We've built a versatile cloud platform that eliminates infrastructure barriers, empowering builders to focus on innovation instead of fighting their stack. Because breakthrough AI should move at the speed of ideas, not infrastructure.\nAbout the Role\nWe are building and operating large-scale infrastructure platforms to support high-performance AI workloads across multiple data centers. Our environment includes GPU-intensive systems, high-throughput networking, and rapidly scaling compute clusters.\nWe are looking for a Senior Hardware Diagnostics Engineer to own that surface: which versions we run, how we prove a version is safe, and how we push it across a fleet without breaking production. You'll set the bar for what validated hardware means here, build the tooling that enforces it, and be the person we escalate to when a failure doesn't make sense.\nFirmware is where a lot of our hardest problems live. A BIOS revision changes how a GPU enumerates. A BMC update fixes one thing and breaks telemetry.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOwn the firmware lifecycle across BIOS, BMC, NIC, GPU, and storage controllers: version qualification, approved baselines, staged rollout, and rollback\n\nDesign and build the validation harness that qualifies a firmware release before it reaches production, including regression and performance comparison between versions\n\nBuild automation against Redfish, IPMI, and vendor management APIs so firmware and validation work runs at fleet scale rather than node by node\n\nDefine what passing burn-in means: the test matrix, the thresholds, and the evidence we keep\n\nMake fleet-wide changes safe and predictable through pre-flight validation, blast radius control, staged waves, and a rollback path that has actually been tested\n\nLead root cause analysis on hardware and firmware failures nobody else can reproduce, including PCIe error analysis, sensor and event log forensics, and thermal and power telemetry\n\nOwn technical escalation with OEM, ODM, and silicon vendors on firmware defects, and track fixes to closure\n\nPrepare validation and bring-up capability for next-generation AMD platforms before the hardware lands\n\nMentor the diagnostics engineer on the team, and turn recurring findings into runbooks and tooling\n\nParticipate in incident response and root cause analysis\n\nContribute to runbooks, documentation, and operational best practices\n\nWho You Are\nRequired Qualifications\n6+ years in infrastructure engineering, hardware validation, systems engineering, or a closely related field\n\nDeep hands-on experience with BMCs and out-of-band management - Redfish, IPMI, iDRAC, iLO, or equivalent - including scripted interaction, not clicking through a web UI\n\nDirect firmware experience flashing, qualifying, and troubleshooting BIOS, BMC, and device firmware on enterprise servers, and a clear sense of how badly this can go wrong at scale\n\nStrong Linux systems skills: boot process, kernel and driver behavior, and hardware diagnostics such as {{dmesg}}, {{lspci}}, {{ipmitool}}, SMART, and vendor CLIs\n\nAbility to read low-level hardware signals: PCIe topology and error output, SEL and sensor data, thermal and power telemetry\n\nPython for automation against REST APIs - Redfish, vendor tooling, and internal systems\n\nA rigorous diagnostic method: you form a hypothesis, design a test that can disprove it, isolate one variable at a time, and document the evidence behind your conclusion\n\nExperience driving hardware issues with vendors through to resolution\n\nClear technical writing for runbooks, RCAs, and vendor escalations\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nAMD GPU and ROCm experience: {{amd-smi}}, {{rocm-smi}}, ROCm Validation Suite\n\nGPU and HPC validation at scale: stress testing, collective communication testing with RCCL or NCCL, node health frameworks\n\nLow-level bus and firmware work: I2C, SMBus, BMC firmware behavior, Redfish schema extensions\n\nKernel-level debugging, including crash dump analysis\n\nAnsible for fleet operations, and Git-based workflows with CI/CD\n\nNetBox or other DCIM and IPAM tooling as a source of truth\n\nPrior work at an OEM, ODM, or hyperscaler on hardware bring-up or validation\n\nFirst Six Months\nBy 90 days you'll have qualified and rolled out a firmware release using our existing process - and told us what's wrong with it. By six months, a validation step that used to be manual runs automatically, and we can state our approved firmware baseline across the fleet without anyone checking node by node.\n\nWhat We Offer\nStock Options\n\n100% paid Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for Employees\n\nCompany Health Savings Account Contributions\n\n100% paid Short Term and Long Term Disability Insurance for Employees\n\nLife and Voluntary Supplemental Insurance Options\n\nOther Insurance Options, such as Pet & Legal Insurance\n\nVarious Supplementary Health Benefits, such as discounted Virtual Healthcare Appointments and Serious Illness Support\n\nFlexible Spending Account\n\n401(k)\n\nEmployee Assistance Program\n\nFlexible PTO\n\nPaid Holidays\n\nParental Leave\n\nOther In-Office Perks\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity\nTensorWave is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We do not discriminate on the basis of any protected status under applicable law.\nReasonable Accommodations\nTensorWave provides reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable laws. If you require accommodation during the hiring process, please contact .\nEmployment Eligibility\nAll offers of employment are contingent upon verification of identity and authorization to work in United States, as required by law.\nBackground Checks\nWhere permitted by law, employment may be contingent upon the successful completion of a job-related background check.\nData Privacy Notice\nBy submitting an application, you acknowledge that TensorWave may collect, use, and retain your personal information for recruiting and employment-related purposes in accordance with applicable data privacy laws.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6140,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":6,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Parental leave","Stock options","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Cloud Platforms (IaaS & PaaS)","AI Compute & Inference"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-23T23:39:22Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 1","filings_12m":1,"filings_prev_12m":0,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":152500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-15T11:24:14+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":3,"expected_fill_days":77,"reasons":["conf:1","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-27T05:46:45Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/tensorwave-senior-hardware-diagnostics-engineer-infrastructure","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/tensorwave-senior-hardware-diagnostics-engineer-infrastructure.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-28T06:00:45Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":7833,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-29T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":6823},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=6823"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Ftensorwave-senior-hardware-diagnostics-engineer-infrastructure"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Ftensorwave-senior-hardware-diagnostics-engineer-infrastructure"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Ftensorwave-senior-hardware-diagnostics-engineer-infrastructure"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/tensorwave-senior-hardware-diagnostics-engineer-infrastructure\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Ftensorwave-senior-hardware-diagnostics-engineer-infrastructure"}]}
