As Director, Customer Hardware Engineering, you own the technical relationship with strategic customers and FAEs, turning their silicon needs into precise requirements for our hardware and software teams. You connect customer architectures to Tenstorrent platforms so their models run efficiently on our silicon.\nThis role is hybrid, based out of Toronto, Austin, TX or Belgrade, Serbia.\nWe welcome candidates at various experience levels for this role. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.\nWho You Are\nExperienced leader of customer-facing technical teams and Field Application Engineering organizations.\nStrong background across RTL, verification, and physical design for custom silicon programs.\nSystems thinker who understands how RTL choices affect software, performance, and customer solutions.\nClear communicator who aligns customers, FAEs, and internal teams around shared technical goals.\n\nWhat We Need\nOwn technical customer relationships and convert high-level asks into concrete engineering specifications.\nCoordinate with hardware and software leads on customer-specific NEO silicon configurations.\nOversee RTL changes and NEO customization required to meet each customer’s requirements.\nDrive tight collaboration between customer silicon teams and internal DV for reliable delivery.\nWhat You Will learn\nHow to scale technical customer success for custom AI silicon at state of art.\nEnd-to-end advanced chip design workflows for large customer programs.\nHow open-source AI software stacks integrate with Tenstorrent hardware in production settings.\nWays to influence product roadmaps directly from real customer workloads and feedback.\nCompensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets.
