Teradata delivers real business value with AI. \n\nWhat You'll Do\n\nResponsible for development of new test cases(SQL), and performance tests focusing on the Teradata Query Optimizer. Participate as part of a team to develop new testing methodologies to improve Optimizer quality and robustness and analyze the effectivity of the TD cost based optimizer. This is not a traditional testing team and is considered part of the Optimizer Group which sometimes involve development assignments in the Optimizer area. We want associates with development experience(6-9 years) and overall experience of 10-12 years to find innovative ways to improve Optimizer testing. Some development of additional testing tools may be required at times. Need to have the ability to technically lead a small team of feature testers. Monitoring of Optimizer problem areas and incorporation of results into the testing methodology is expected. Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps is an added plus. They are also occasionally required to fix issues in the database code. \n\nWhat Makes You a Qualified Candidate\n\nBS or MS/MCA in Computer Science or related field\n\nDevelopment experience required. \n\nTesting and/or Quality Assurance experience is a strong plus. \nKnowledge of Programming & DS & Python/Perl/Shell Scripting desirable. \nShould be comfortable with SQL(ANSI/Database specific)\nAbility to work with a Project Lead, Senior Developers, and Support Associates required. \nTeradata knowledge a plus. \n\nKey Areas of Responsibility:\n\nDevelop a framework for improved testing. \nDevelop SQL test cases, test plans, CI/CD pipelines and test report analysis. \nWork with Developers and Project Lead to identify critical performance areas and high-risk areas of the Teradata Query Optimizer performance. \nParticipate in Closed Loop Corrective Action analysis to improve Optimizer quality, robustness, and predictability. \nWork with developers to identify proposed new testing tools that can be used to improve Optimizer quality. \nWork on discrepancy reports and resolve them with database fixes\n\nOther Items that will be desirable :\n\nAnalyze optimizer bugs, design fix and unit test changes. \nDevelop new features/change requests. \nInteract with offshore/onshore associates on projects/assignments\n\nScope:\n\nIndividual Contributor\nWorks with Project Lead, reports to Engineering Manager\n\nWork Environment:\n\nRequirements Analysis, Software development, Unit/Integration testing, bug fixing. \n\nWhat You'll Bring\n\n10-12 years of experience with 6-9 Years of experience in R&D based Dev/Test teams\nUnderstand and be able to develop CI/CD piplelines. Software development skills including software design specification, test specification, coding, testing. \nStrong programming skills with C.
