In this role, you will support Engineering in product development by performing inspection, assembly, repair, and rework of prototype printed circuit board assembly hardware in compliance with IPC industry standards and within an ISO 9001/14001-certified work environment.\nExecute quality control inspections of PCBA hardware in accordance with IPC industry standards.\nPerform electronic component replacement, rework, and board and pad repair using advanced soldering techniques.\nOperate automated SMT rework equipment for complex component replacement, including BGA rework and the creation of profiles for new package types.\nUse soldering irons and hot-air rework tools to remove and install SMT components as small as 0201, as well as through-hole devices.\nConduct visual and X-ray inspection to verify solder-joint quality and detect defects.\nPerform PCBA cleaning processes, including wash and bake procedures.\nSupport new-product hardware updates, engineering changes, and the assembly of Teradyne instruments, including electromechanical components.\nUse PCB viewer and CAD tools to trace circuit paths, identify components, and analyze board layers.\nMaintain accurate inspection, repair, and rework documentation in compliance with quality-system requirements.\nWork within ISO 9001/14001 quality and environmental management systems.\nAll About You\nWe seek individuals who share our passion and determination. If you’re ready to join us in this mission, take a closer look at the minimum criteria for the position.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in electronics preferred.\nA minimum of five years of hands-on experience in PCB rework, repair, or electronics assembly in a manufacturing environment.\nA minimum of five years of experience with BGA rework and advanced soldering techniques.\nDemonstrated experience with SMT and through-hole soldering.\nProficiency with hand soldering irons and hot-air rework tools.\nExperience operating X-ray inspection systems.\nFamiliarity with PCB viewer or CAD software, such as Cadence, Altium, or similar tools.\nAbility to read schematics, assembly drawings, and engineering documentation.\nWorking knowledge of ISO 9001/14001 standards, Windows, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Reader.\nStrong attention to detail and manual dexterity.\nAbility to work on-site at our North Reading, Massachusetts facility.\nIPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/7721 certifications are preferred.\nExperience supporting NPI in ATE, semiconductor test, instrumentation, or hardware manufacturing is preferred.\n\nWe are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.\nThis position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\nCompensation and Benefits\nCompensation: The base salary range for this role is $52,800 -$84,500. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set.
