We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where employees can contribute, grow, and make an impact.\nOpportunity Overview\nTeradyne is seeking an experienced Software Quality Applications Manager to lead a team responsible for customer-facing software quality initiatives, field application engineering support, and product validation activities.\nIn this role, you will serve as a bridge between customers, software engineering, product management, quality engineering, and field teams to ensure high-quality software solutions are successfully deployed and supported. You will drive quality improvements, establish best practices, and lead teams focused on software validation, customer enablement, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement.\nThis role combines technical leadership, people management, customer engagement, and quality engineering expertise.\nConsistent with Teradyne manager-level expectations, this position leads professional teams, establishes operational objectives, and drives execution of initiatives that impact customer success and business performance.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and develop a team of Software Quality Applications Engineers supporting customer accounts and product lines.\nAct as the primary escalation point for critical customer quality and reliability issues.\nPartner with Teradyne internal software engineering, Release teams, marketing, and customer support teams to investigate and resolve customer issues.\nPartnering with marketing and sales teams to bring in customer presentative programs to Engineering for early customer acceptance regression for various market segments \nManaging customer test program inventory for IP access and storage in Engineering \nDrive root cause analysis for customer escapes using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, Fishbone Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).\nEstablish and monitor key quality metrics, including defect trends, field reliability, customer feedback, and corrective action effectiveness.\nLead customer-facing technical reviews, quality audits, and business reviews.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.\nCoordinate corrective and preventive actions across global teams and ensure timely closure of quality actions.\nSupport new product introduction activities by providing field quality insight and risk assessments.\nDevelop processes and best practices that improve issue resolution and knowledge sharing across the organization.\nPartner with senior leadership to communicate quality performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.\nSupport customer deployments, transitions to newer SW versions and escalations while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.\nDevelop and implement test strategies, validation frameworks, and process improvements that enhance product quality and customer experience.\nCollaborate with global engineering teams to improve product reliability, usability, and performance.\nFacilitate knowledge sharing and establish best practices across engineering and applications teams.\nAll About You\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n7+ years of experience in software quality engineering, software testing, field applications, product validation, or related technical disciplines.\nPrior people leadership experience or demonstrated success leading technical teams and projects.\nStrong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and software quality engineering principles.\nExperience with software validation, test automation, defect management, and quality management systems.\nWorking knowledge of root cause analysis, CAPA, FMEA, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to collaborate effectively across global and cross-functional teams.\nExperience working directly with customers to investigate and resolve technical issues.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting semiconductor test, automated test equipment (ATE), industrial automation, or advanced manufacturing solutions.\nKnowledge of test automation frameworks and modern software quality engineering practices.\nExperience working in Agile development environments.\nASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or similar certification.\nFamiliarity with ISO 9001 and other quality standards.\nExperience managing customer escalations and driving cross-functional resolution.\nWe are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship\nCompensation and Benefits\nTeradyne offers a competitive compensation package designed to attract, retain, and reward top talent.
