This role requires a strong focus on lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and employee engagement to drive operational excellence.\nDuties include:\nLead and manage the production team daily in terms of labour, work instruction, attendance management, training and development, and all areas of employee relations.\nLiaise with Production Control and Purchasing regarding outsourced work.\nLiaise with external Production providers regarding outsourced cutting and folding scheduling. \nControlling and managing the production levels on the shop floor, to ensure that the targets are achieved.\nLead continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilisation\nCollaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to resolve production issues.\nFoster a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and employee involvement.\nTo attend and organise the daily and weekly production meetings.\nPromote health and safety within the workplace and ensure compliance to all Health and Safety Regulations.\nTo ensure the production line is run in accordance with lean manufacturing practices and principals.\nCarry out any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.\nThis role is responsible for a team of day and nightshift workers so there will be an element of flexibility required in relation to support both shifts adequately.\nDevelop and implement a strategic roadmap for the Machine Shop focused on maximising the performance and capability of existing equipment. Drive improvements in machine utilisation, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE),\nIdentify and lead initiatives to optimise machining capacity, reduce downtime, improve throughput, and enhance operational efficiency through data-driven decision making\nWhat you’ll bring:\nExperience & Qualifications:\nCandidates should be qualified to minimum of GCSE level or equivalent.\nSignificant production experience gained in a highly pressured manufacturing environment.\nExperience and proven track record of Supervisory and /or people management is essential.\nAn understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques an advantage.\nAwareness of visual management.\nComputer literate and experience of Oracle /ERP systems.\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work to and meet strict deadlines and able to adapt to changing priorities and goals.\nGood team player and able to work on own initiative.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nHard working\nSelf-motivated\nGood team player\nExcellent attention to detail\nHigh level of communication skills\nFlexibility to meet the demands of the business\nAll applicants must demonstrate through their application form how they meet the criteria for the position applied for.
