The main task is managing and keeping key applications working: Jira/Confluence, OwnCloud, Gitea, Discourse, and FreeIPA. You will install, configure, fix issues, and provide direct end-user support for these applications. You will also take care of backups, updates, basic maintenance, and everyday troubleshooting. \nHow you will make a meaningful contribution\nKey responsibilities include:\nIncident management and troubleshooting\nCapacity planning and performance tuning\nSupport for application migrations to new infrastructure\nDocumentation and knowledge sharing via wikis or SharePoint\nUser support via helpdesk or Jira tickets\nBring your world class expertise into play\nTechnical Skills:\nLinux server administration (RedHat Enterprise Linux, Docker)\nNetwork knowledge (DNS, firewalls, NAT, subnets, Nginx)\nMonitoring and logging (Zabbix, Syslog)\nSecurity operations: patch management, vulnerability scanning, compliance with ESA guidelines\nAutomation tooling: Ansible, AWX, scripting, GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes\nTechnical application management: in general, with preferred experience in Atlassian Jira/Confluence\nSoft Skills:\nStrong communication skills, both towards end-users and ESA/ESTEC stakeholders\nProactive in identifying issues and improvement opportunities\nExperience working in an ITIL-based environment or similar service processes\nSome project management experience (desirable)\nDesired Background:\nBachelor’s or Master’s-level working and thinking capability in Computer Science, System Administration, or equivalent\nMinimum 3 years of experience in a comparable role\nExperience with ESA/ESTEC or other European research institutions is considered an asset\nThis is a full-time position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands.
