We are a dynamic team responsible for designing, maintaining, and securing the technological backbone that drives our mission forward.\nYou shall support:\nRoutine system operations service;\nHardware Maintenance service\nEnd-user requests;\nInstallation and configuration of computer and storage solutions;\nInterface to hardware repair and COTS support maintenance providers.\nMonitoring and alerting\nSkills and experiences\nUniversity degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline\nFluency in English\n1-3 years of professional experience in this role, or an equivalent combination of education and applied internships.\nBasic understanding of networking concepts (OSI model, VLANs, IP addressing,\nrouting, Wireless technologies, DNS/DHCP, ACLs etc.). IP allocation and DNS entries via the DNS/IPAM system.\nFamiliarity with common network device interfaces (CLI on Cisco, web interfaces; SNMP-based tools).\nBasic understanding of the principles of ACI is desired, but not essential as in-house training on the dashboard can be provided.\nExperience using network monitoring platforms and log management tools. Such as but not exclusive to Solarwinds, Netbrain, OPS View and Splunk. To include additions/removal of new devices, generating reports upon request and NMS tuning.\nAbility to interpret alerts and log entries related to interface status, link health, and device availability.\nUnderstanding of VPN technologies and remote access troubleshooting.\nStructured documentation skills and experience with ticketing or change management systems.\nGeneral Work Skills\nProblem solving\nGood analytical skills\nHigh degree of interpersonal awareness\nExperience in working as part of a multicultural team\nAbility to perform regular, e.g. weekly, context switch\nWorking Location\nThis is a full-time position to be in located on-site, at EUMETSAT’s premises in Darmstadt, Germany with an expected start date as soon as possible.
