Terra Energy offers a solar subscription with no upfront cost, no long-term contract, and savings of up to 50% on monthly electricity bills. Serving Florida and Houston, TX.

About Us and Why We’re Hiring

At Terra Energy, we’re not just developing renewable energy projects-we’re building a streamlined, scalable operation that can grow efficiently across multiple markets.

As we expand in Texas, permitting has become a critical part of our success. Every project depends on accurate submissions, strong relationships with local jurisdictions, and the ability to navigate regulatory requirements without delays.

That’s why we’re looking for a Permitting Coordinator -someone who doesn’t just process permits, but takes ownership of the entire lifecycle and helps us build a more efficient, reliable system.

If you enjoy working with regulations, creating structure, and making complex processes run smoothly, this role is for you.

The Role

This role sits at the core of our operations.

You’ll be responsible for managing the full permitting process across our renewable energy projects in Texas-from initial submission to final approval and Permission to Operate (PTO).

You’ll work closely with internal teams and external authorities to ensure every project is compliant, on time, and properly documented.

This is a detail-driven role with high operational impact-ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable navigating regulatory environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading the Permitting Process

You’ll manage the end-to-end permitting lifecycle, ensuring every application is submitted accurately and moves efficiently through approval stages.

You’ll track multiple permits across different jurisdictions, proactively identifying and resolving delays or missing information.

Coordinating Across Teams

You’ll collaborate closely with Engineering, Sales, Project Management, Scheduling, and Inspection teams to ensure projects are fully ready for submission and aligned with current requirements.

Managing Compliance & Documentation

You’ll ensure all permits meet Texas regulatory, technical, and safety standards.

This includes reviewing documentation such as drawings, engineering stamps, and scopes of work, as well as maintaining accurate records across internal systems.

Working with External Authorities

You’ll act as the main point of contact with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), utilities, and third-party partners-facilitating submissions, answering questions, and pushing approvals forward.

Optimizing Processes

You’ll help define and improve permitting workflows by creating SOPs, reducing errors, and identifying ways to speed up approvals.

You’ll also support system improvements and automation efforts to make processes more scalable.

Training & Knowledge Sharing

You’ll act as a resource for internal teams-sharing updates on regulatory changes, providing training, and helping prevent recurring permitting issues.

What We’re Looking For

You’re someone who thrives in structured environments-or enjoys creating structure where it doesn’t exist yet.

You’re detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple moving pieces without losing track.

You likely:

  • Have prior experience with permitting processes in Texas
  • Understand local, state, and utility regulatory requirements
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Can manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Communicate clearly with both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Are comfortable reviewing technical documentation (drawings, plans, etc.)
  • Enjoy improving processes and making systems more efficient

How You’ll Work at Terra Energy

We’re a fast-growing company, and while we move quickly, we rely on strong operational foundations.

You’ll have ownership over your area, direct collaboration with multiple teams, and the opportunity to improve how permitting is handled as we scale.

We value people who are proactive, solution-oriented, and focused on getting things done the right way.

Compensation & Details

  • Salary: $50,000 USD annually
  • Location: Remote (United States)
  • Reports to: Operations Manager
  • Department: Operations

What Success Looks Like

  • Permits are submitted accurately and approved on time
  • Minimal delays due to missing or incorrect documentation
  • Strong relationships with local jurisdictions and utilities
  • Clear, organized tracking of all permitting activities
  • Improved workflows that reduce turnaround times

In Summary

This role is for someone who brings order to complexity.

If you’re excited about managing critical processes, working with regulations, and playing a key role in getting projects across the finish line-this is that kind of opportunity.
