For nearly two decades, our mission has been to provide affordable, clean energy at a large scale, helping the nation achieve its goals of energy security, grid resiliency, and meaningful action on climate change while fostering economic growth in communities across the United States.\nWe are proud of our leadership advancing America’s clean energy future.\nWhat You Will Do\nThis position will assist in the management of the Terra-Gen’s energy portfolio and commercial transactions, which include short-term power purchase agreements, renewable energy credit transactions, resource adequacy transactions, and other off-take agreements for solar, wind, and energy storage projects. Key responsibilities will include tracking contractual obligations, counterparty information, invoices, credit requirements, payments, and deliveries. The position will also support general origination efforts including market analytics and commodity fundamental models.\nEssential Functions\nBuilds tools and databases to monitor company positions and fulfilment of commercial contracts.\nReviews drafts and executed contracts to extract key commercial terms and information.\nEnsures timely deliveries for purchases/sales and subsequent invoicing/payment.\nMaintains counterparty information, including counterparty onboarding, credit limits, and master agreements.\nSocializes contractual obligations to all relevant internal departments (Finance, Asset Management, Accounting, etc.)\nAnalyzes market information for energy, resource adequacy, RECs, and other fundamental commodities.\nAssists with cost/revenue forecasts and budget preparation.\nAssists in the building/onboarding of an energy transaction management system.\nOther duties as assigned\nRequirements\nQualifications\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nBA/BS in Economics, Engineering, Business, or other related field required.\n0 - 2 years of professional experience in energy markets, settlements, accounting, finance, commercial operations, or a related field.\nStrong command of Microsoft Excel, basic SQL, APIs, and/or R/Python/VBA/similar required.\nComfortable working with and manipulating large data sets (time series, public databases, etc.)\nKnowledge or interest of wholesale power markets, renewable energy markets, Resource Adequacy (RA), Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and energy storage transactions.Ability to analyze complex market, financial, contractual, and operational data and translate findings into actionable business insights.\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with large datasets; familiarity with SQL, APIs, Python, R, VBA, or similar analytical tools.\nUnderstanding of revenue, cost, forecasting, budgeting, pricing, and commercial transaction concepts.\nAbility to review agreements, identify key commercial terms, track obligations, and communicate requirements to internal stakeholders.\nHighly detail-oriented with strong self-auditing skills and the ability to identify discrepancies, omissions, and potential risks.\nDemonstrates sound judgment and the ability to investigate issues, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical solutions.\nAbility to manage multiple transactions, deadlines, contractual obligations, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nBuilds effective working relationships across Finance, Accounting, Asset Management, Operations, Legal, and other internal teams.\nAbility to develop tools, improve processes, and support implementation of transaction-management and data systems\nSkills/Competencies\nStrong attention to detail and self-auditing.\nExcellent communication skills.\nTeam focused, relates well with others who demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.\nSelf-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently while exercising sound judgment regarding when to escalate issues.\nHandles sensitive commercial, financial, and counterparty information with discretion and professionalism.\nOther\nRemote work from home or San Diego office.
