The SEM governs standards, policies, resources, and performance necessary to protect workers, the public, the environment, and plant systems.\nThe SEM is accountable to site leadership and regulators for program health, regulatory compliance, and long-term strategic capability in these disciplines.\nResponsibilities\nProgram Ownership and Governance\nOwns and governs the station’s Engineering systems programs, including standards, policies, procedures, resource allocation, staffing models, and regulatory compliance.\nEnsure Systems Engineering activities are performed per regulatory requirements, quality assurance program requirements, and applicable procedures.\nSystems Engineering Decision-Making and Authority\nHas approval authority for program standards, major policies, and procedures related to Systems Engineering.\nHas authority to stop or restrict work on the basis of engineering analysis or related concerns.\nGoverns staffing models, qualification requirements, and training standards for the systems engineering organization.\nIntegration and Strategic Leadership\nEnsures full integration of systems engineering requirements into operations, maintenance, design engineering, work planning, and construction/startup activities.\nProvides manager-level technical and programmatic input to site leadership for systems engineering on plant risk, plant conditions, and operational decisions.\nLeads and coordinates responses of systems engineering support for plant events with emergency preparedness and site response organizations.\nOperational and Resource Management\nDevelop and manages budgets and long-range resource plans for systems engineering programs, including personnel, equipment, and facilities.\nOwns performance monitoring, self-assessment, and corrective action programs for systems engineering functions.\nRegulatory Compliance and Stakeholder Engagement\nServes as the primary site interface with regulatory agencies and oversight organizations on matters related to Systems Engineering.\nLeads and supports audits, inspections, readiness reviews, and management assessments affecting Systems Engineering programs\nMinimum Qualifications\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, physical science, or a related technical field.\nMinimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering at a US commercial nuclear power plant\nMinimum 3 years of experience in management or supervisory leadership roles.\nPreferred:\nAdvanced degree in a relevant technical discipline.\nSRO license at a commercial nuclear power plant.\nExperience successfully working with diverse team in the completion of organizational objectives.\nDemonstrated track record of programmatic performance improvement and corrective action leadership.\nExperience with new plant startups, first-of-a-kind, or major facility commissioning environments.\nThis position is subject to qualification requirements in accordance with ANSI/ANS 3.1.
