We are looking for a talented Technical Project Manager to join us and provide professionalism, commitment, and integrity.\nThe Technical Project Manager is responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closing of complex projects within TerraSense. Operating within a hybrid Agile/Waterfall framework, the technical Project Manager ensures deliverables are completed on time, within budget and in strict compliance with Canadian defence security protocols. This role provides direct project management leadership, direction, delegation and mentorship to cross-functional project teams.\nWe want people who encompass our values of being self-driven, honest, and interested in pushing the envelope of AI/deep learning.\nOur head office is located in the beautiful city of Kelowna BC, with a satellite office located in Calgary AB.\nThis will be a hybrid employment opportunitywith work hours divided between remote (home) and office attendance. Our products are being developed with focus on modernization in two primary sectors: Aerospace and Defence.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES\nWhile this role has no direct administrative reports (ie. performance reviews, salary adjustments), the Project Manager will be expected to help mentor junior members of the team and help guide the implementation of robust, elegant and scalable solutions.\nOwn end-to-end delivery of technical initiatives for assigned projects such as feature development, data migrations, infrastructure upgrades etc. \nCreates and maintains project artifacts such as project charters, risk registers, project management schedules, work breakdown structures, etc. \nDevelop, monitor, and communicate project timelines with the support of technical resources and including the coordination of project stakeholders.\nWork within agile backlogs in JIRA or equivalent. \nExplain technical constraints back to leadership. \nTranslates high-level business goals into actionable, highly detailed functional and technical requirements for engineers. \nCoordinate software developers, architects, QA testers, and other technical resources on assigned projects to keep work aligned. \nMonitor milestones and key performance indicators using agile or traditional project management methodologies. \nDefine project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management, customers, and internal stakeholders.\nEnsures their project team(s) adhere to the Company's agile frameworks and mindset.\nEnsures their project team(s) adhere to the Company’s coding standards that apply to their projects. For example coding standards for rapid prototyping and POC work for products in production. \nManage, mentor, and direct assigned Project Coordinators, delegating administrative, tracking, and documentation tasks effectively.\nEstablish and manage project budgets, tracking variances, forecasting financial milestones, and implementing corrective actions to ensure profitability.\nOversee the end-to-end invoicing process and manage high-level contract compliance in coordination with Finance and procurement authorities.\nEstablishes precise boundaries for deliverables, actively identifying and blocking hidden, unapproved work that drains development cycles.\nRemoves blockers so that technical staff can focus on delivery of technical work.\nWrites and manages Statements of Work to formally define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities between clients and vendors. \nReview project contracts, statements of work (SOWs) and amendments, and provide recommendations for approval to the VP of Product, in accordance with Company policy.\nServe as the primary point of contact for customers, contracting officers, and procurement authorities, building long-term strategic relationships.\nWorks with technical resources on the team to provide responses to technical questions from customers. \nProactively identify, mitigate, and manage project risks and scope creep, implementing resolution strategies before milestones are impacted.\nRepresent TerraSense as the lead presenter at critical client meetings, project reviews, and steering committees.\nProvides project updates to internal stakeholders at company meetings and events as needed. \nEnforce strict compliance across all project files, tools (Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace), and communications regarding the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Contract Security Program (CSP).\nEnsure project governance records are continuously audit-ready for internal or external compliance reviews.\nCoordinate seamlessly across departments, including Software Development, Product, Finance, and Business development to align resource allocation with Company goals.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nAt least 5 years of progressive experience in project management, preferably within the defence, aerospace, or technology sectors, as a technical project manager. \nA degree or diploma in computer science, technology, data science, or similar.\nCertified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset. \nCertified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification or Agile equivalent is considered an asset.\nProficient in Jira & Confluence, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, and project management software (i.e. MS Project or Smartsheet).\nExceptional leadership, negotiation, and critical-thinking skills. Proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.\nAbility to manage concurrent projects effectively, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and budget. \nA firm understanding of the triple constraints. \nPrevious technical experience and a good understanding of the software development lifecycle. \nAbility to handle sensitive, confidential and classified information professionally, and must be eligible to attain and maintain a Secret level security classification.\nPrevious military experience or working within the defence industry would be considered an asset.\n*PLEASE NOTE: TerraSense works in the aerospace and defense sectors. As a result, this position requires a Secret Level Security Clearance issued by the Government of Canada.
