Reporting to the Director of Process Development, you'll act as the connective tissue between Research, Manufacturing, Quality, and Automation - with real influence over how our microarray patch formulations get built, optimized, and scaled. You'll also have hands-on oversight of formulation campaigns and the technicians running them, giving you both technical depth and early leadership experience.\nWhat you'll do\nLead cGMP formulation operations for Microarray Patch manufacturing, ensuring adherence to batch records, SOPs, and regulatory requirements\n\nProvide hands-on guidance to junior staff and technicians during manufacturing campaigns; train, mentor, and evaluate personnel\n\nOversee day-to-day manufacturing floor activities - safety, compliance, scheduling, and troubleshooting - alongside Manufacturing and Facilities\n\nDrive process development and optimization studies for microarray patch formulations, including excipient optimization\n\nAct as the liaison between Research and Manufacturing to scale formulation processes from R&D to production\n\nIdentify and implement new technologies and assays to support continuous improvement\n\nLead root cause analyses and process development investigations\n\nAuthor, edit, and review batch records, SOPs, and work instructions\n\nCommunicate progress, issues, and results to key stakeholders\n\nWho you are\nEngineer I - BS in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline; 0-2 years of relevant experience (internship, co-op, or academic research experience welcomed)\n\nEngineer II - BS or MS in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline, with 3+ years of relevant experience (title adjusted commensurate with qualifications)\n\nStrong hands-on formulation process development experience; able to design and execute studies and analyze results independently\n\nPrior supervisory experience in a GxP environment preferred\n\nStrong grasp of Good Documentation Practices, including authoring and reviewing batch records, SOPs, and work instructions\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication, time management, and project management skills\n\nAbility to learn quickly, solve challenging technical problems creatively, and work well across diverse, multidisciplinary teams\n\nStrong attention to detail and root-cause problem-solving skills.\n\nCompensation: The anticipated base salary range for the Engineer I position is $62,000 - $82,000. The compensation for the Engineer II position is $72,000 - $91,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, qualifications, and internal equity.\nOnsite expectations: The majority of our roles at Terrestrial are either onsite or hybrid, which allows us to meet both business and team needs.
