The position will help ensure that new technologies, configurations, updates, and hardware platforms are thoroughly tested and ready for enterprise deployment.\nYou will maintain test environments, execute test plans, document results, identify defects, and recommend corrective actions. You will also support endpoint imaging and lifecycle-management activities, automated testing initiatives, configuration and change management, and the development of technical documentation and communications. This position will play an important role in ensuring that endpoint solutions meet IRS-CI operational, security, and performance requirements before they are deployed to users.\nWhat does a typical day look like for a IT Support Specialist (Tester) Engineer ?\nYou will:\nExecute structured validation and testing within the enterprise endpoint test environment.\nSupport the configuration and lifecycle management of endpoints, software, hardware, and associated test environments.\nAnalyze, develop, implement, and maintain modernized endpoint imaging methodologies and lifecycle-management solutions, including operating systems, firmware, drivers, BIOS, standard software, clients, and servers.\nSupport automated image and version tracking and the integration of new hardware into established image lifecycles.\nAnalyze, develop, implement, and maintain automated testing methodologies and solutions supporting user profiles, endpoint management, software management, and captured test use cases.\nMaintain test environments daily and gather requirements from stakeholders.\nReview, develop, improve, and maintain test plans and associated testing documentation.\nPerform testing of hardware and software changes using agile and continuous-delivery methodologies.\nValidate endpoint deployments across different hardware configurations, authentication methods, and network environments.\nIdentify defects, document test results, and recommend corrective actions.\nProvide management reporting on test execution, results, defects, and overall readiness.\nSupport Alternatives Analysis, decision documents, white papers, and implementation of approved solutions using IRS-CI processes.\nSupport configuration, change, and communications management activities.\nAssist with release communications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), knowledge articles, self-help content, and other technical documentation.\nEnsure testing activities and deliverables comply with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and applicable IRS/CI security controls and policies.\n What qualifications do you look for?\nYou might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:\nAuthorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.\nA minimum of 3 years of experience supporting enterprise endpoint management, desktop engineering, software-deployment testing, operating-system validation, or similar activities in Microsoft Windows environments.\nExperience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft Intune, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.\nExperience with application compatibility testing and documenting detailed test execution results.\nExperience testing hardware and software deployments across multiple endpoint platforms, authentication methods, and network configurations is preferred.\nCompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent endpoint-management, desktop-support, or security certification(s).\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.\nAbility to work onsite Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Eastern Time, excluding U.S. Federal holidays.
