This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate or emerging professional looking to gain experience in financial operations within the federal space. After three months, this position has the potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance and business needs. \nWhat does a typical day look like for the Part-time Entry-Level Project Accountant?\n You will:\nTrack project budgets, actuals, and forecasts.\nAssist with maintaining state taxcompliance and review travel reports.\n\nEnsure costs are allowable, allocable, andreasonable per FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and CAS (Cost Accounting\nStandards).\n\nMaintain compliance with agency-specific guidelines(e.g., DCAA, DFARS).\n\nSupport audits and ensure audit-ready documentation.\nPrepare and submit invoices in accordance with thecontract (T&M, CPFF, FFP, etc.).\n\nReconcile billed vs. actual costs.\nInterface with government payment systems (e.g.,Wide Area Workflow (WAWF)).\n\nReconcile labor costs with timesheets and labordistribution reports.\n\nEnsure accuracy of direct and indirect laborallocations.\n\nSupport indirect rate calculations and rate varianceanalysis.\n\nSet up new projects in the accounting systemaccording to contract terms.\n\nEnsure proper closeout of projects-final invoices,audit support, and documentation archiving.\n\nGenerate internal financial reports and externalreports for government agencies.\n\nProvide project managers with real-time financialdata to support decision-making.\n\nAssist in preparing for and responding to DCAA oragency financial audits.\n\nMaintain detailed records to ensure traceability andcompliance.\n\nWhat qualifications do you look for?\n You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:\nBachelor’sDegree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.\n\nA minimum ofone (1) year of relevant experience (internships, academic projects, or\npart-time work) in financial analysis or accounting.\n\nStrongunderstanding of accounting principles and financial management within complex\norganizations.\n\nProficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with SharePoint is\npreferred.\n\nStrongattention to detail and organizational skills.\n\nAbility towork collaboratively and communicate clearly with internal team(s).\n\nWe are extra impressed by folks with:\nExperience with QuickBooks desktop.\nFamiliaritywith federal agencies.\n\nWhat kind of benefits does Terrestris Offer?\n We offer outstanding benefits including health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, as well as paid leave professional development, tuition assistance, and work-life programs.
