Leads software architecture, embedded systems development, verification and validation activities, and regulatory compliance efforts in accordance with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and FDA requirements. Collaborates with cross-functional teams including systems, hardware, quality, and regulatory engineering to deliver reliable, secure, and compliant medical devices. Provides technical leadership, mentors engineering teams, drives process improvements, and ensures successful product development from concept through commercialization and post-market support.\nEssential Duties\nLead the design, development, integration, and maintenance of medical device software applications.\nDrive software architecture, design reviews, code reviews, and technical decision-making.\nDevelop high-quality, maintainable software using C++ on Embedded Linux/Linux platforms.\nCollaborate with systems, firmware, hardware, QA, regulatory, and product management teams.\nEnsure compliance with medical device software development processes and standards.\nDefine software requirements, architecture, design specifications, and technical documentation.\nSupport risk analysis, cybersecurity assessments, and software verification activities.\nMentor and guide software engineers, fostering technical excellence and best practices.\nParticipate in effort estimation, planning, and project execution activities.\nDrive continuous improvement in software development processes, CI/CD, and quality practices.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS\nEducation\nBachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Electronics or a related field.\nExperience\n6 to 15 years of software development experience.\nExperience in embedded product development and design.\nExperience in medical device software development preferred.\nSkills\nStrong proficiency in C++ (C++17 or later).\nExtensive experience in Linux application development.\nExperience in Yocto framework and OS customization.\nHaving Experience in developing UI applications using QT/QML.\nStrong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.\nExperience with multithreading, IPC, networking, and system-level programming.\nExperience with version control systems such as Git.\nStrong debugging and problem-solving skills.\nExperience leading technical teams and driving software projects.\nPreferred Qualifications\nKnowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, IEC 60601-1, and FDA software guidance.\nExperience with cyber-security requirements and secure software development practices.\nExperience with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks.\nKnowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.\nTerumo Penpol is part of Terumo Group and is headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
