The MI/BI and Analytics Manager (known internally as a Principal Engineer) role exists to ensure colleagues can access trusted, timely and actionable insights that support better decision-making across the business. You’ll lead the development of reporting, dashboards, semantic models and self-service analytics capabilities, helping to transform data into meaningful outcomes. Working closely with Data Engineering, AI & Data Science, Product Managers and business stakeholders, you'll play a key role in establishing reporting standards, driving adoption of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, and enabling colleagues to make decisions with confidence.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nDeliver trusted reporting, analytics and self-service capabilities that enable data-driven decision-making across Tesco IMS.\nEstablish and embed reporting, semantic modelling and visualisation standards that improve consistency, quality and trust in business insights.\nBuild, develop and lead a high-performing MI/BI & Analytics team, fostering a culture of insight, continuous improvement and stakeholder collaboration.\nDrive the adoption of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, increasing self-service analytics capabilities and reducing reliance on manual reporting processes.\nEnable greater business value from data by partnering with stakeholders to define meaningful metrics, KPIs and reporting outcomes.\nPromote reporting rationalisation, reuse and governance to ensure a scalable and efficient analytics estate.\nWhat we’re looking for (minimum criteria)\nProven experience leading and developing high-performing BI, Analytics or Reporting teams within a complex organisation.\nStrong expertise in Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, including semantic modelling, dashboard development and self-service analytics.\nExperience defining and implementing reporting standards, governance controls and best practices that improve data quality, consistency and adoption.\nAbility to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, translating business requirements into insightful reporting and analytics solutions.\nAnd if you have any of these, even better\nExperience scaling Microsoft Fabric and Power BI adoption across an enterprise environment.\nExperience defining KPI frameworks, performance management reporting and executive dashboards.\nExperience supporting advanced analytics, AI or data science initiatives through reporting and semantic model design.\nExperience in ontology in relation to Microsoft Fabric and how this can be used to support AI Agents.\nWe welcome applications from everyone.
