About the role

The Data & AI Product team is responsible for developing and managing data and AI/ML products that drive intelligent experiences, decisions, and actions across the Tesco ecosystem. We work in close partnership with business and technology teams across Customer, Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial etc.-to enable the seamless build, consumption, integration and expansion of Data & AI capabilities.

You will be responsible for

·Support Product Vision & Roadmap Delivery - Work closely with Lead and Senior Product Managers to execute the product roadmap and deliver capabilities that accelerate AI Innovation & Engineering across Tesco.

·Deliver Value Through Product Outcomes - Contribute to defining and tracking OKRs and KPIs, ensuring product initiatives deliver measurable value for users and the business.

·Understand Users & Stakeholders - Build a strong understanding of user personas, customer journeys, and stakeholder needs. Gather feedback, identify pain points, and translate insights into product improvements.

·Drive Experimentation & Learning - Support a test-and-learn culture by helping teams define hypotheses, run experiments, gather feedback, and iterate quickly based on outcomes and evidence.

·Stay Informed on Market & Industry Trends - Monitor relevant market developments, emerging technologies, and competitor activity to bring insights and ideas into product planning and discovery.

·Own Product Execution - Manage and prioritise product backlogs, translate requirements into actionable user stories, and work with engineering and delivery teams to ensure successful sprint and release execution.

·Collaborate Across Teams - Work effectively with engineers, data scientists, designers, and business stakeholders to align on priorities, clarify requirements, and deliver product outcomes.

· Manage Prioritisation & Issue Resolution - Support prioritisation decisions, balance competing requests, and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve product issues and minimise impact to users.

You will need

·Proven experience contributing to the delivery of Data, AI/ML, or digital products, supporting the product lifecycle from discovery through to launch and continuous improvement.

·Good understanding of the retail industry, including key business processes, commercial drivers, and operational metrics.

·Awareness of emerging Generative AI technologies and an understanding of their potential applications, benefits, and limitations within an enterprise environment.

·Experience applying product discovery and delivery methodologies (e.g. Triple Diamond, Design Thinking, Lean Product Development) to identify user needs and support product development.

·Experience gathering, analysing, and synthesising user research and feedback to inform product decisions and improve user outcomes.

·Experience working closely with data science, engineering, analytics, and design teams to deliver valuable product outcomes.

·Ability to navigate ambiguity, break down complex problems, and support discovery activities through qualitative and quantitative research.

·Good understanding of product management fundamentals, user experience principles, and modern technology platforms.

·Experience working within agile delivery teams, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and product delivery activities.

·Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across technical and business teams.

·Able to balance short-term user needs, technical considerations, and longer-term product goals when making prioritisation recommendations.

·Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to a range of audiences.

·Working knowledge of enterprise systems, APIs, integrations, and operational metrics such as availability, reliability, and performance.

·Familiarity with modern data platforms and data products, including an understanding of how data can be used to improve business outcomes, scalability, and decision-making.
