About the role
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our Developer Experience & Enablement Platform (DEEP) team. Within this team, we provide a trusted engineering foundation through reliable platform infrastructure, opinionated libraries and tooling, and clear golden paths.
In this role, you'll design and build new intelligent capabilities of the platform that serves around 100 applications.
This is a high-impact position where you’ll work holistically across the stack, dive into complex technical challenges, and help shape the future of Tesco’s technical landscape.

This role requires you to be based in or near Kraków, as you will spend 60% (3 days) of your week collaborating with colleagues at our office locations or local sites and the rest remotely.

You will be responsible for
- Architect and build new intelligent capabilities of the platform, including AI-driven workflows; write RFCs/ADRs and drive technical consensus.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure, shared libraries, and tooling that support engineering teams.
- Drive platform adoption by attracting new teams.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, programme, and engineering stakeholders to deliver cross-functional solutions.
- Promote engineering excellence through advanced engineering practices, automation, testing, and observability.
You will need
- 8+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade infrastructure and/or applications.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), infrastructure-as-code and networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS, ingress).
- Strong expertise in system design and full-stack development.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven ability to own projects end-to-end, from concept to production.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- Experience mentoring engineers and fostering technical growth within teams.
- A holistic mindset - you care about reliability, performance, developer experience, and long-term impact.
- A proactive, self-driven attitude with a focus on delivering meaningful value.
