This is a strategy-and-automation role, not a click-testing one: you'll own the test strategy, write the test cases, and automate them on top of established open-source testing tools - working shoulder-to-shoulder with developers to bake quality in from the start rather than catch it at the end.\nThis role partners closely with product and platform engineering.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn the test strategy end-to-end across the SDLC.\n\nBuild and own test coverage on top of established open-source testing tools - defining the strategy, writing the test cases, and automating them - and integrate it into our Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines so tests run on every meaningful change.\n\nWrite clear, maintainable test cases and test plans, and keep them current as the product evolves.\n\nPlan and run the full range of testing - including but not limited to integration testing, system testing, regression testing, and stress / load / performance testing.\n\nPartner with developers to define acceptance criteria, shift testing left, and make quality a shared responsibility rather than a gate at the end.\n\nTriage failures, drive root-cause analysis on escaped defects, and close the loop with durable fixes.\n\nReport quality signals (coverage, flake rate, escaped defects) in a way the team can act on.\n\nWhat You'll Need (Required)\nStrong test automation skills, with a track record of designing test strategy and automating it on top of established open-source testing tools.\n\nDeep, practical understanding of the SDLC and where testing fits at each stage.\n\nProven experience writing test cases and test plans.\n\nHands-on experience across multiple testing types: integration, system, regression, and stress / performance.\n\nExperience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.\n\nStrong communication skills - you work directly with developers and can make a clear, persuasive case for quality.\n\nSufficient experience with Python, JS/TS\n\nNice to Have\nStrong experience with Python, JS/TS\n\nFamiliarity with open-source testing tools (for example, Playwright or Cypress for end-to-end, pytest for unit and integration, k6 or Locust for load and stress testing).\n\nExposure to testing cloud or containerized (Kubernetes) workloads.\n\nExperience supporting a System and Organization Controls 2 (SOC 2) or similar compliance program by producing test evidence.\n\nBackground in enterprise or regulated environments where reliability is non-negotiable.\n\nExperience in early-stage environments where one person owns a broad testing surface.\n\nWhat Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)\nYou've assessed current test coverage and identified the highest-leverage gaps.\n\nAutomated test coverage is running in the pipeline on every meaningful change.\n\nThe team has a clear, lightweight process for triaging failures and preventing repeat defects.\n\nLocation and Work Model\nRemote in South America/Mexico/India/LATAM","description_format":"text","description_chars":3045,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"Brazil","iso":"BR","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-22T22:28:08Z"}],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":23,"reasons":["conf:0","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-09-23T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":60000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/tessera-labs-sr-qa-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/tessera-labs-sr-qa-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-24T02:50:41Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
