Work with the mainframe, Linux, network,\nstorage, security and service-management teams to define responsibilities and\ndeliver a service application teams can consume.\nEssential experience\nIBM LinuxONE / IBM Z: Understanding of LPARs, IFL capacity, platform resilience and\nthe chosen virtualisation approach-such as z/VM or KVM.\n\nEnterpriseRHEL: Familiarity with provisioning, patching, hardening, monitoring,\nbackup, automation and production support.\n\nCross-platformdelivery: Experience aligning mainframe platform practices with Linux\nengineering and application requirements.\n\nInfrastructureservice launches: Delivery of service catalogues, support models, SLAs,\ndisaster recovery, operational acceptance and onboarding.\n\nTechnicalproject management: Ownership of plans, dependencies, risks, suppliers,\nbudgets and decisions across infrastructure teams.\n\nThey do not need to be the deepest engineer in both technologies\nbut must be technically credible enough to challenge assumptions and resolve\nownership gaps.\nKey responsibilities\nDefine the offering: Supported RHEL versions, server sizes,\nenvironments, availability tiers and target workloads.\nCoordinate the architecture: Platform capacity,\nvirtualisation, networking, storage, security and management tooling.\nConfirm workload readiness: Validate application, middleware\nand vendor support for Linux on IBM Z (s390x)-do not assume x86 workloads can\nmove unchanged.\nEstablish the operating model: Agree who provisions,\npatches, monitors, backs up and supports each layer.\nLead a pilot: Prove provisioning, application compatibility,\nperformance, recovery and support processes.\nDeliver production readiness: Secure operational sign-off,\npublish the service catalogue and manage initial onboarding.\nExpected deliverables\nIntegrateddelivery plan and RAID log.\n\nAgreedarchitecture and responsibility matrix.\n\nCapacity,licensing and cost model.\n\nProvisioningand lifecycle-management processes.\n\nSecurity,backup and disaster-recovery acceptance evidence.\n\nOperationalrunbooks, support model and service catalogue.\n\nPilotresults and production go-live approval.\n\nBest-fit profile: A senior infrastructure PM who has\ndelivered Linux on IBM Z/LinuxONE services-not a generic PM with only\ntraditional mainframe application experience or only x86 Linux
