Administers first aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and water rescue to \npatrons as needed. \nPRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nEssential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. This is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by incumbents of this class; employees may be assigned duties which are not listed below; reasonable accommodations will be made as required. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:\nMonitors activities at pool to prevent accidents and incidents; follows emergency action plans and established procedures in the event of an emergency. \nRescues swimmers at risk; administers first aid as necessary.\nCautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; maintains order at pool and adjoining areas.\nDetermines chemical balance of water.\nProvides general information on pool operations and protocols to patrons. \nSupports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent\nUp to 1 year of experience\nRequired Licenses and Certifications:\nLifeguard Certification. \nCPR/First Aid Certification\nRequired Knowledge of:\nPool equipment and maintenance; swimming pool sanitation and chlorine systems. \nLifesaving methods and procedures including first aid and CPR.\nRules, regulations, and procedures involving public pool conduct. \nRequired Skills in:\nAdministering first aid and CPR.\nEnforcing procedures and rules. \nPhysical Demands/Work Environment:\nWork is performed in public pool area. Requires both standing, sitting and physical efforts when attempting a water rescue; must meet physical requirements set in Lifeguard Certification training.
