The group owns downstream Drug Substance development across Teva's biologics pipeline, from early development through commercialization and lifecycle management. The Scientist will design and run purification process development studies that directly support scale-up, and manufacturing readiness and regulatory filings. The Scientist will work on multiple molecules, including late-stage monoclonal antibodies and next-generation antibody formats. This role suits a scientist who wants to see their work move molecules toward patients, from the lab bench through to the clinic and commercial manufacturing.\nHow You’ll Spend Your Day\nTechnical Execution & Scientific Leadership\nIndependently plan, run, and interpret bench- and pilot-scale purification studies (chromatography, filtration, viral inactivation and filtration, UF/DF) to meet product quality and yield targets.\nApply sound scientific and engineering principles, including DoE, to optimize processes, troubleshoot them, and make them more robust.\nContribute to process characterization and help define control strategies for late-stage and commercial processes.\nData Interpretation & Communication\nTurn experimental results into clear technical conclusions and recommendations that guide project decisions.\nAuthor development reports, protocols, and presentations for cross-functional teams and leadership.\nRegulatory & Lifecycle Contributions\nAuthor downstream sections and supporting data for regulatory submissions (IND, BLA, MAA).\nSupport scale-up, technology transfer, and cGMP clinical manufacturing campaigns, including on-site support and root cause investigations.\nCollaboration & Influence\nPartner with upstream, analytical, drug product, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams as part of an integrated Biologics CMC organization.\nRepresent downstream development on project teams under general direction from the group lead.\nInnovation & Continuous Improvement\nEvaluate and implement new purification technologies that improve process performance, scalability, and cost of goods.\nWhat You Will Work On (First 12-24 Months)\nDeveloping and optimizing downstream processes for late-stage programs moving toward Phase 3 and process validation readiness.\nBuilding out the downstream toolbox for next-generation antibody formats, where purification challenges differ from standard mAbs.\nContributing to external collaborations with academic and industry partners on next-generation purification technologies.\nHow Success Is Measured\nTimely delivery of well-designed, well-documented studies that address relevant program questions.\nQuality and rigor of study design, execution, and reporting in support of technology transfer and regulatory filings.\nLearning agility and increasing independence, demonstrated by progressing from study execution to ownership of defined downstream development workstreams.\nYour Skills and Experience\nPhD in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field, with 0-2 years of industry experience.\nHands-on research experience in protein purification, separations, or bioprocessing.\nDemonstrated ability to independently design experiments, analyze data, and communicate results clearly in writing and presentations.\nAlso Good to Have\nExperience with AKTA systems and UNICORN software, membrane filtration, or TFF.\nFamiliarity with DoE and statistical tools (e.g., JMP).\nExposure to industrial internships, scale-up, or cGMP environments.\nInterest in complex modalities such as bispecific antibodies.\nHow We’ll Take Care of You\nWe offer a competitive benefits package, including:\nComprehensive Health Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription coverage starting on the first day of employment, providing the employee enrolls. \nRetirement Savings: 401(k) with employer match, up to 6% and an annual 3.75% Defined Contribution to the 401k plan. \nTime Off: Paid Time Off including vacation, sick/safe time, caretaker time and holidays. \nLife and Disability Protection: Company paid Life and Disability insurance. \nAdditional benefits include, but are not limited to, Employee Assistance Program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Tuition Assistance, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Account, Life Style Spending Account, Volunteer Time Off, Paid Parental Leave, if eligible , Family Building Benefits, Virtual Physical Therapy, Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity Insurances, Identity Theft Protection, Legal Plan, Voluntary Life Insurance and Long Term Disability and more. \nThe total compensation may also include restricted stock units and discretionary awards, depending on the position offered.
