Accordingly, if you will now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status this moratorium may affect our ability to employ you should you be selected as the final candidate.\n--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\nThe salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.\nThe Admissions Counselor I, under general supervision, handles data entry for processing applications, assesses residency status, and oversees the workflow of student information used to convey admission decisions.\nResponsibilities:\nCounsels and advises students on admissions requirements, processes applications, evaluates transfer students' transcripts, maintains graduate admissions-related records and databases. and responds to inquiries about graduate and undergraduate studies.\nMaintains knowledge of current federal, state, and institutional policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to graduate admissions.\nBe knowledgeable of information about financial aid, scholarships, and other resources.\nProvides excellent customer service and a prompt response to any questions or concerns raised by graduate students, faculty, and staff, and is well-equipped with extensive knowledge and expertise to provide accurate and helpful assistance to all those seeking their assistance.\nParticipates in recruitment activities and designated area initiatives aimed at increasing graduate enrollment.\nAssists graduate students with navigating the initial enrollment process after admission.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nRequired Education and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nNo prior experience required.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nKnowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.\nKnowledge of admissions functions of higher education.\nAbility to multitask and work cooperatively with others.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nSpecial Requirements:\nApplicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year.
