For more information regarding the benefit package go to: West Texas A&M University: Human Resources Benefits\nNOTICE - All posted positions are subject to budget approval.\nGeneral Summary:\nThe Upward Bound project director is directly responsible for the successful implementation and continuation of the Upward Bound grant project. The director will manage and execute all project goals, objectives and activities. Supervise personnel, administer the budget and is responsible for the evaluation of all program activities and services. The position operates under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of the Office of College Access and Academic Enrichment Programs in the Division of Student Affairs at West Texas A&M University.\nResponsibilities:\nPlan and direct the implementation of the Upward Bound grant project’s goals, objectives and activities.\nResponsible for planning and coordinating all college visits, leadership and cultural activities and the residential summer academy on the University campus.\nCoordinate and direct all aspects of the Upward Bound grant project.\nResponsible for the evaluation of all program activities and services.\nSecure facilities, resources and materials to satisfy project activities and goals. Identify, assess, and provide services for Upward Bound participants as needed.\nSupervise, manage and train full-time and part-time personnel. Responsible for all recruiting, employing and training processes for new project staff.\nAdminister, plan, manage the grant project budget, and conduct administrative functions.\nResponsible for collecting data and submitting the Upward Bound project’s annual performance report and other documentation required by U.S. Department of Education on behalf of the University and the Office of College Access and Academic Enrichment Programs.\nWork on special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the Office of College Access and Academic Enrichment Programs.\nMaintain positive relationships with university departments and external constituents.\nMaintains 100% compliance with timely completion of required System, University and job-specific online training courses.\nThis document represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions. Other duties as assigned.\nNecessary Qualifications:\nMaster's in Education or related field.\nThree (3) years of experience with federal TRIO programs, academic support programs, or similar project/programs for disadvantaged students.\nTwo (2) experience with federal TRIO programs, academic u experience in the areas of staff supervision; budget management; program development and evaluation, and reporting and compliance with federal regulations.\nStrong communication, leadership, organizational, administrative, management skills.\nProfessional or personal experience in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting project participants.\nGood driving record.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nDoctorate degree.\nFive (5) years of experience in areas of staff supervision; program development and evaluation; reporting and compliance with federal regulations.\nExperience with college access programs.\nTeaching experience.\nKnowledge of higher education and secondary education curriculum and degree requirements. \nBudget experience and knowledge. \nAbility to manage and expand program partnerships.\nExperience with college, career, financial aid, and financial literacy.\nExperience with grant writing processes.\nApplicant Instructions:\nPlease include the following with your application:\nCover letter\nResume\nThree references\nPlease attach all documents in the attachment box at the bottom of the “My Experience” page before continuing through the application.
