PURPOSE

We are seeking a Housekeeper whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cleaning designated areas assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor by performing the following duties: vacuuming carpet areas including resident rooms, hallways, and common areas; mopping and cleaning tile areas including resident rooms and common areas; emptying trash in their designated area; and cleaning bathrooms including tub, shower, and toilet areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Custodial - 60%

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of assigned building and rooms.

  • Performs the following duties: vacuuming carpet areas including resident rooms, hallways, and common areas; mopping and cleaning tile areas including resident rooms and common areas; emptying trash in their designated area; and cleaning bathrooms including tub, shower, and toilet areas. Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.

  • Restocking custodial supplies.

  • Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with students, fellow employees and others.

Support - 30%

  • Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment.

  • Reports maintenance concerns via work order requests.

Other - 10%

  • Performs other related duties as requested and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Ability to communicate with clear written and verbal messages

  • Ability to present a professional image

  • Knowledge of safety equipment usage (e.g. AED, fire extinguishers, etc.), proper cleaning methods, and safety measures essential to the work environment

  • Ability to work outdoors in temperature extremes, work with high noise levels, and must have the ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.

  • TAMU-CC Housing maintains a drug-free workplace.

  • Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment system or water treatment system.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous professional cleaning experience is preferred

  • Previous housekeeping experience in residence life or college housing

SALARY: up to $15.50/hourly

  • up to $32,240/annually, approximately
