The analyst extracts data from source data systems, prepares it for use, and completes reports and summaries for management and users including data requests, data sets for State and Federal agencies, data sets and analyses for university administration and committees, project status reports, problem reports, and progress summaries. Documents all developed processes and reporting methodologies. This position requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills and is proactive in improving the work performance on the individual and team level.\nThis position is on-site.\nEligibility to work in the U.S. is required at the time of hire. No pre-employment sponsorship is authorized for this position\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nThe Lead Data Architect under general direction, develops, manages, and coordinates Institutional Research operations.\nCollaborates with faculty and staff to compile, analyze, and report a wide range of institutional data, which includes institutional characteristics, enrollments, and student achievements.\nEnsures that information is collected, and official reports are produced in a timely manner to maintain compliance with Federal, State, System, and University reporting requirements.\nOversees the design, development, and maintenance of online databases as well as the composite information system storing archival information for retrieval to enhance reporting.\nDevelops technologically driven enhancements for providing internal constituents with access to data and information for decision making.\nManages daily activities of the department with regards to recruiting and selection, hiring and terminating, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, and performance evaluations.\nAnalyzes University data and prepares reports and executive summaries.\nAdministers the budget and oversees the fiscal operations of assigned department.\nThis document represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions. Other duties may be assigned\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nSix years of related experience.\nKnowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.\nAbility to multitask and work cooperatively with others.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nMaintains current knowledge of State and Federal requirements for reporting.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in information technology, Business Analytics, Data Science, Programming, or similar field.\nExperience with Business Objects and Power BI a plus\nOther Requirements\nKnowledge of statistical analysis tools\nKnowledge of report editing, data marts, and statistics\nExperience working with SIS, SQL, and data visualization tools.\nAbility to write moderate to complex queries in SQL or WebFOCUS programming language.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality.\nEligibility to work in the U.S. is required at the time of hire.
