Keeps buildings in safe, secure condition and in constant working order. Oversees organization and cleanliness to ensure building is a comfortable and safe facility for faculty, staff, students, guests, and horses. In addition, assists in performing and scheduling preventative, and planned facility maintenance.\nResponsibilities:\nManagement of the horse herd and facilities used by the Athletic Department - Women’s Equestrian Team.\nCommunicate with the coaching staff, veterinarians, and other equine service providers regarding horse performance daily.\nManagement of the equine nutrition program with routine communication with the coaching staff about needs and changes.\nDevelops and implements operational strategies.\nPlans and directs workflow.\nTraining, supervision, coordination, and management of the student worker barn crew. Training includes equine behavior and handling methods.\nWork with the Farm Foreman on the maintenance of the Hildebrand Equine Complex to include the facility, pasture, and arena maintenance and cleaning schedules.\nMaintain safe working conditions for Hildebrand employees, teams, and visitors.\nEquestrian team show preparation.\nPost-season (SEC and National Championship) travel (every March and April).\nOccasional support of other facility users (AgriLife Extension, Institute for Equine Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine).\nProvides input for annual budgets.\nReviews, recommends, and implements policy changes and initiates process changes.\nServes as contact for after-hours equine & facility emergencies.\nPerforms other duties as assigned. \nQualifications:\nRequired Qualifications:\n-Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n-Five years of related experience.\n-Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.\n-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.\n-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n-Minimum of 5 years' experience in Equine Management.\n-Experience in horse show and/or athletics background.\nOther Requirements:\n-Ability to promptly respond to on-site emergency calls.\n-Ability to exert heavy force.\n-Requires travel to various locations.\nWhat You Need to Know\nSalary: $68,330.50/Annually\nFlexible Work Arrangements: This position is not eligible for remote work.\nImportant Notice Regarding H1-B Sponsorship:\nYour employment at Texas A&M AgriLife may require nonimmigrant sponsorship.
