The Program Manager reports to the Director of the Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing. The position manages grant activities, such as learner applications, licensure verification, scheduling for classes, and organizing Community of Practice meetings.\nWhat you need to know\nSchedule: May require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.\nTravel: Travel may be required.\nPlease note: This position is grant funded; future employment may be contingent upon future funding.\nResponsibilities:\nManaging, Teaching, and Implementation of Outreach Program\nPlans organizes, directs and manages day-to-day activities for FNE/SANE education funding/grants and other forensic outreach projects.\nInteracts with participants in education and outreach programs to respond to questions and inquires. Manages participant database.\nAttends and participates in team meetings.\nPrepares and presents reports on continuing education programs offered and to funders as required.\nDevelops and maintains competency in specialized software platforms maintained by forensic nursing. \nMaintains expertise in specialty through continuing education, practice, and consultation.\nMay supervise program support staff and student assistants\nParticipates in recruitment efforts for the Forensic Health Care Program and Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing.\nManaging and Planning Funded Activities\nAssists director in developing strategic plans and goals for the funded activities. \nManages participant applications.\nConducts licensure verification for participants.\nSchedules participants for courses and preceptorships.\nParticipates in the facilitation of simulation continuing education for new and practicing forensic nurses.\nCoordinates the posting and registration for continuing education courses for the learners.\nCollaborate with faculty to develop continuing nursing education course offerings.\nCoordinates the planning of trainings, workshops and conferences.\nMaintain supplies and materials necessary for simulation experiences.\nLiaise with the Clinical Learning Resource Center to schedule simulation experiences for SANE education courses.\nConsults with Forensic Nursing/SANE programs throughout the state on areas of development and sustainability.\nMay research, develop and an assist with white papers, grant applications and prepares presentations as needed.\nParticipates in planning activities and implementation for funded projects.\nOther duties as assigned. \nQualifications:\nRequired Education and Experience\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nFive years of related experience in coordinating/managing programs/projects, planning, scheduling and coordinating events or other related and relevant experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience coordinating/managing projects\nExperience coordinating/managing events\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nKnowledge of word processing, slide presentation, and spreadsheet applications.\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills.\nMaintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.\nAbility to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.\nInstructions to Applicants: Applications received by Texas A&M University must either have all job application data entered, or a resume attached.
