This position plays a key role in managing the Greater Texas Foundation (GTF) Scholars Program and provides targeted services for first-time in college (FTIC) students with ECHS backgrounds who are not part of the GTF cohort.\nThis role involves student support, outreach, and cross-campus coordination to ensure a smooth academic and social transition for ECHS students. The Student Support Coordinator also oversees the GTF Peer Mentor Program and supports pathway alignment with ECHS partners. This is a term-limited, grant-funded position with an anticipated end date of September 30, 2030. Extension is dependent upon additional funding.\nThis is a grant-funded position. Grant funded positions are time-limited and are contingent upon sufficient grant funding.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and lead academic and social programming that supports engagement and success for GTF Scholars.\nProvide individualized case management and connect students to campus resources.\nRecruit, train, and supervise GTF Peer Mentors and paid student workers.\nCoordinate outreach efforts to prospective GTF Scholars and support onboarding in collaboration with internal teams and ECHS partners.\nManage administrative tasks, including scholarship award notifications, student letters, and inventory tracking.\nAssist with budget tracking and student scholarship compliance.\nStay in compliance with Financial Aid policies and procedures as they relate to scholarship disbursement and student eligibility.\nDevelop programming and support services for FTIC students with ECHS backgrounds outside of the GTF program.\nFacilitate collaboration with departments such as Academic Advising, Enrollment Services, and Student Success to support transitions.\nTrack student engagement and academic performance, conduct proactive outreach to those needing additional support.\nPlan and facilitate orientation, welcome events, and first-year experience activities tailored to ECHS transition needs.\nCollect and analyze student data to evaluate program impact and support continuous improvement.\nMaintain compliance with FERPA and university policies; uphold high standards of confidentiality and ethics.\nRequired Education and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nFive (5) years of related experience.\nPreferred Education and Experience:\nMinimum of two (2) years of professional experience supporting college students in higher education.\nSkilled in assisting students navigating early college experiences and transitional programs.\nExperience developing and evaluating student-focused programs.\nFamiliarity with grant-supported programming, compliance, and reporting.\nMaster’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field.\nExperience managing or supporting grant-funded student success initiatives.\nFamiliarity with scholarship management and compliance processes, including coordination with Financial Aid.\nPrior experience coordinating peer mentor programs or student leadership development initiatives.\nUnderstanding of pathway alignment between high school and higher education institutions.\nProficiency with student information systems and data tools (e.g., Banner, Salesforce, Excel).\nDemonstrated success in planning and facilitating student engagement programs or transitional support services.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students and campus partners.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.\nExperience supervising student staff and leading peer-to-peer support initiatives.\nProficient in tracking, analyzing, and reporting student data to inform program development.\nSkilled in building collaborative relationships across departments and with external partners.\nKnowledge of student transition and engagement strategies, particularly in early college contexts.\nCommitment to fostering a student-centered environment that promotes success.\nApplicant Instructions:\nPlease make sure to provide the following documents:\nCover Letter \nResume / CV \nProfessional References \nFor detailed instructions on how to apply for any position on our website, please use the following link:\nhttp://www.tamusa.edu/humanresources/job-opportunities/index.html\nSummary of Employee Benefits:\nwww.tamusa.edu/human-resources/documents/Summary-of-Employees-Benefits1.pdf\nTexas A&M University-San Antonio values community engagement and encourages applicants who are committed to advancing the well-being and prosperity of our communities.\nPlease ensure that all required documents are uploaded prior to submitting the application.
