As a RF Hardware Applications Engineer, you will be an integral part of our team leading the revolution of connectivity in automotive use cases, and specifically be involved in our team focused on Bluetooth Low Energy, Ultra-wideband (UWB) and our TI WBMS Protocol. We’re searching for an experienced hardware applications engineer who has the passion and excitement to grow in this position, innovate, and take an active role in supporting automotive customers as they design, ramp and manufacture their products with TI connectivity products inside. This position requires someone who enjoys working in an international environment and brings a positive “can do” attitude to their objectives.\nIn this position you’ll work with closely with TI customers to determine their design challenges and partner with them on creating solutions, design optimization and improving their products. This can involve travelling to the customer and working together on-site to solve any issues and deliver presentations both in-house and onsite. You will spend hands-on time in a world-class RF lab tackling technical challenges and delivering innovative development solutions that support our products and drive revenue. Key responsibilities include:\nAnswer customer questions and supporting design-in activities for released products. This includes:Forum and email questions from customers\nSchematic and Layout Review of customer application\nDebug of customer problems by re-creating issues in our evaluation boards and/or customer boards\nOn-site support on customer boards as required\n\nPlan, design, develop and characterize RF development kits (LaunchPads), EVMs and RF reference designs\nTest and optimize RF performance on customer HW and reference designs in our high-end RF lab, including schematic and layout reviews of customer application\nElectromagnetic (EM) simulations and analyses of designs (balun, filtering, transmission lines, impedance matching)\nDevelop and optimize RF PHYs\nBe a technical expert on RF/HW and provide technical support to the company's sales staff and customers\nDevelop technical documentation including application notes, user guides, design notes and white papers.\nInternal and customer training, through training events like FAE summits and TI Tech Days or written materials, like application notes, journal papers, or IEEE papers.\nInterface with various cross-functional teams (e.g. Designers, System Engineering, Software Engineering, Business)\nEstablish key relationships Engineering, ECE, Computer Engineering, or related field\n3+ years of relevant engineering experience\nExperience in applications support of wireless and embedded processing devices\nSolid hardware and software debugging skills\nStrong technical background, with the ability to produce high quality technical documentation\nPreferred qualifications:\nMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience\nExperience in applications support of embedded & RF products\nRF PCB design (Cadence, Altium)\nHands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g. spectrum and network analyzer, load pull system, etc.) and simulation tools (e.g. ADS, Ansys, etc.),\nRegulatory & Compliance testing, experience with antenna design & EMC chamber\nKnowledge of Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, Ultra-wideband or proprietary wireless networks is an advantage\nSolid hardware and software debugging skills\nEmbedded C or python programming skills is an advantage\nAny relevant experience working in the automotive industry with an OEM or Tier 1\nAny experience with battery management systems is an advantage\nKnowledge of Functional Safety, ISO 26262 is an advantage\nExcellent writing and communication skills in English\nTime management skills and the ability to work towards a deadline\nStrong analytical and problem-solving
