This role will work directly with engineering teams to evaluate new development, expand automated coverage, troubleshoot failures, and strengthen quality throughout the software delivery process. This is a hands-on technical testing role, not a primarily manual QA position. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with software written in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS. As automation is key to our success, the candidate should understand best practices and how testing fits into modern build and deployment pipelines.\nWhat You'll Do\nDevelop testing approaches for new features, product changes, and software releases.\nBuild and enhance automated test solutions that improve engineering feedback and product reliability.\nValidate functionality across multiple software components and integrated product environments.\nDetermine appropriate testing coverage based on technical requirements, product behavior, and potential areas of risk.\nIncorporate automated validation into continuous integration and software delivery workflows.\nPerform functional, integration, regression, system-level, and release-focused testing.\nInvestigate failed tests and unexpected product behavior to determine whether issues originate in the product, test code, environment, or build process.\nPartner directly with software engineers to reproduce defects and assist with technical root-cause analysis.\nMaintain dependable testing environments, data, tooling, and supporting automation.\nIdentify unstable or ineffective automated tests and improve their reliability and value.\nParticipate in engineering reviews and contribute to improvements in development, testing, and release practices.\nProvide clear technical feedback regarding software quality, outstanding risks, and readiness for release.\nCanada job posting requirements\nAs of 1/1/2026, Ontario has new job posting and post-interview communication requirements that Tl must comply with.\nCanadian experience: An employer must not include any requirements related to Canadian experience in the posting or application form.\nExisting vacancy: The job posting must include a statement disclosing whether the posting is for an existing vacancy or not.\n- Approved statements:\n\"This posting is for an existing vacancy (internal movement or backfill).\"\n\"This posting is for a new role created to meet business needs.\"\nInformation after interview: If an employer interviews an applicant for a position in a job posting, the employer must, within 45 days after the date of the last interview, inform the employee of whether a hiring decision has been made in respect of the job posting (in person, in writing, or using technology i.e. email or ATS).\nRequired Qualifications\nProfessional experience in software quality engineering, software testing, or test automation within a technical product environment preferred.\nExperience creating and maintaining automated software tests.\nWorking knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, React, HTML and CSS and the ability to test and troubleshoot software developed with these languages.\nExperience developing test plans and determining appropriate coverage for complex software.\nExperience incorporating automated testing into CI/CD or automated build/release processes.\nAbility to diagnose failed automated tests, build issues, and pipeline problems.\nExperience testing at multiple levels, such as component, integration, system, and end-to-end.\nStrong debugging and analytical skills with the ability to work directly with software developers on technical issues.\nUnderstanding of the software development lifecycle and how quality engineering supports development through production release.\nTI Canada has a small company environment with all the resources of a large multi-national corporation.
