This position will serve as a resource providing athletic training and rehabilitation coverage across the complex. This role will also be overseeing the athletic training internship program. The ideal candidate will have a background in sports medicine and have a strong knowledge of athletic training and orthopedic rehabilitation.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:\nProvide athletic training and rehabilitation coverage for Arizona Complex League rehab, spring training and camps.\nAssist with game, practice, camp, and/or workout coverage as needed, including pre/post treatments and field setup.\nAssist with post-injury care, including treatment, rehabilitation programming, appointment coordination, and communication with Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, physicians, and outside providers ensuring continuity with care provided.\nCoordinate and manage medical and rehabilitation travel logistics for physician appointments and specialty care, including scheduling, transportation, lodging, itineraries, and communication with players, medical staff, physicians, and organizational personnel.\nServe as a floating, complex-wide athletic training resource to help maintain consistency in medical care, rehabilitation practices, and training room operations.\nCollaborate with Athletic Trainers, Team Physicians, Physical Therapists, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Sport Scientists, and other members of the Player Health and Performance staff to provide comprehensive player care.\nMaintain thorough and timely documentation of injuries, treatments, rehabilitation sessions, physician appointments, and other required medical records.\nOversee the organization's athletic training internship program, including intern schedules, clinical experiences, mentorship, education, and professional development.\nAssist with oversight, organization, and general upkeep of medical and rehabilitation spaces throughout the complex.\nMaintain and monitor medical equipment and training room operations, including ice machines, hot/cold tubs, modalities, Gator/equipment, inventory, and other medical equipment.\nAssist with calibration and maintenance of therapeutic modalities and medical equipment.\nMaintain upkeep of the training room environment while helping ensure consistent operational standards.\nSupport implementation and maintenance of EMR processes, medical trackers, documentation workflows, and other medical technology initiatives.\nAssist with special projects and organizational initiatives within the Player Health and Performance department.\nMaintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, communication, organization, and clinical judgment in high-stress situations.\nOther duties as assigned.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field required.\nCurrent athletic training certification and Arizona licensure or eligibility for licensure required.\nExperience working with athletes in a sports medicine, collegiate, professional, or high-performance environment required.\nStrong knowledge of athletic training, orthopedic rehabilitation, and sports medicine principles required.\nExperience providing rehabilitation and injury management services in a professional baseball or sports environment preferred.\nExperience overseeing, mentoring, or coordinating athletic training students or interns preferred.\nStrong organizational and logistical skills, including experience coordinating medical appointments and travel preferred.\nExperience utilizing electronic medical records, medical trackers, and other healthcare technology preferred.\nStrong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.\nAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing organizational needs.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.\nAbility to lift up to 50 lb.\nAbility and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the baseball season required.\nAbility and willingness to travel as needed.\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
