If you're ready to join the TSTC family and make great memories please complete our application process.\nJob Description\nThe Admissions Advisor is a pivotal member of the Enrollment and Integrated Marketing organization at Texas State Technical College (TSTC), contributing significantly to the mission of placing Texans into high-paying jobs. In this role, the Admissions Advisor executes both internal and external activities to attract applicants and supports them through the admissions process. Reporting directly to the Team Lead of Admissions, the Admissions Advisor serves as a key contributor with some supervision.Hiring Range is $20.13 - $22.14 USD Hourly.\nThe final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.\nAn equivalent combination of education, training and relevant professional experience will be considered.\nEssential Functions & Responsibilities:\nCore Values Demonstration:Consistently embody TSTC Core Values (Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity) when interacting with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and the community.\n\nAdvisory Role:\nAssist prospective and new applicants in identifying programs aligning with their career goals.\n\nGuide students through the admissions process, ensuring all application requirements are met.\n\nAssist students in determining methods of financing including but not limited to assistance with completion of the FAFSA.\n\nStudent Enrollment Growth:\nManage a student applicant caseload, providing personalized advisement.\n\nAnswer questions, troubleshoot needs related to the admissions process, and effectively guide prospective students.\n\nCollaboration Across Departments:\nCollaborate with various TSTC departments, including Veteran Services, Financial Aid, Registrar's Office, Student Operations, and Student Services and Enrollment.\n\nSupport applicants’ admissions experience, set up campus tours, and coordinate efforts to enhance understanding of TSTC's product line.\n\nCompliance and Record Management:\nStay updated on FAFSA, FERPA, and compliance practices for records management.\n\nCommunity Engagement:\nVisit various community locations, including high schools, to attend events, represent, and promote TSTC.\n\nProvide information related to TSTC programs and applications.\n\nTechnology Utilization:\nUtilize various software programs to track prospective student outreach and follow-up.\n\nMaintain student records, track activity, and generate reports on monthly engagement targets and semester admissions objectives.\n\nAdmissions and Administrative Duties:\nPerform general admissions and administrative duties, including collecting and uploading documents, and reviewing documents for quality control.\n\nUndertake other duties as assigned.\n\nSkills & Abilities:\nPossess excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and effective information delivery.\n\nDemonstrate critical thinking skills to make decisions and solve complex problems with sound reasoning.\n\nShowcase exceptional multitasking abilities to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.\n\nExhibit adaptability to learn and leverage new technologies.\n\nTravel Requirements:\nThis position requires travel during working hours, up to 25% of responsibilities.\n\nOccasional travel up to 5% of responsibilities that may involve overnight stays.\n\nOccasional availability on nights and weekends may be required.\n\nCompetencies:\nCustomer service: Work effectively in a service environment, providing timely and concise information with professionalism.\n\nTime management: Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet student needs and internal deadlines.\n\nProblem-solving: Use critical thinking to determine the best course of action and remain open-minded and flexible to find solutions.\n\nTeamwork: Actively participate in a team, encouraging cooperation, and staying up-to-date on changes to processes.\n\nCultural competence: Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse backgrounds, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students.\n\nEducation & Experience:\nAssociate’s Degree.\n\nExceptional background may be considered in lieu of educational requirements\n\nPreferred:\nPrior experience as an Enrollment Coach or similar one stop enrollment center.\n\n1-3 years experience in consultative sales or higher education preferred, particularly in recruiting, admissions, records, financial aid, or related fields.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer\n\nOccasional need to reach, pull, bend, and carry loads up to 15 lbs.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nTexas State Technical College (TSTC), as an equal opportunity employer, complies with all applicable federal and state laws regarding nondiscrimination.
