If you're ready to join the TSTC family and make great memories please complete our application process.\nJob Description\nThis position is an entry point for the pool of qualified applicants to be selected for anticipated part-time temporary positions working under the guidance of the Texas State Technical College Corporate College. Instructors may be required to develop customized training curriculum and /or provide instruction for workforce development and industrial training clients.Essential Functions\nEmployee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.\nDevelop curriculum for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.\nDeliver instruction for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.\nComplete documentation including grades, etc., as required by the supervisor.\nOther duties as assigned\nEducation/Experience/Knowledge/Skills\nEducational requirements vary based on the training need.\nTwo years related experience relevant to subject needs.\nDemonstrated knowledge in at least one of the following areas: industrial maintenance, RCM, vibration analysis, fluid power, electrical, aviation maintenance, safety, instrumentation/electronic control systems, welding, heavy equipment operation, telecommunications, computerized numeric controls, boiler systems, heating/ventilation and air conditioning, English as a second language, and building construction and repair or other specialized manufacturing skill sets and experience as deemed appropriate by client demand.\nThis job description covers a position in which the percentage of time spent on the essential functions will vary based on the workload and will ultimately be determined by the supervisor.\nCandidates must have a minimum of two years of relevant industry experience related to the training topic. Relevant experience may include work in:\nHighway or roadway safety\nHighway maintenance or inspection\nTransportation infrastructure operations\nWork zone traffic control\nCandidates must demonstrate practical experience working in or around active roadway work zones and an understanding of hazards associated with highway construction, maintenance activities, and traffic management.\nInstructional Experience\nExperience delivering workforce training, safety instruction, or on-the-job training for adult learners is preferred. Candidates must be able to effectively communicate safety procedures, demonstrate equipment and processes, and facilitate hands-on training activities.\nPreferred certifications include:\nOSHA 10 Construction\nOSHA 30 Construction\nOSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer (Construction)\nWork Zone Safety or Traffic Control certifications (ATSSA or equivalent)\nTRF450 - TxDOT Roadway Illuminations and Electrical Installations\nTRF453 - TxDOT Electrical Requirements for Installing Traffic Signals\nTRF815 - Installation Requirements for Traffic Signal Controller Cabinets\n Highway Traffic Safety Professional (HTSP) Certificate\nWork Environment and Travel\nThis is a part-time, statewide workforce training position.
