In this role, you will be responsible for negotiating and managing commercial agreements with healthcare providers-including physician groups, and ancillary services-to build and maintain a high-quality, cost-effective, and competitive network. This role ensures seamless implementation of new and renewed contracts through effective coordination with internal teams. The Contract Manager also handles contract amendments and renegotiations in response to changing organizational needs and may lead related initiatives and projects to support overall business objectives.\nEssential Job Functions\nIn this role, you will:\nDevelop, negotiate, and maintain provider contracts in alignment with organizational policies and financial guidelines.\nManage provider relationships, ensuring contract terms are met and resolving service issues.\nCoordinate with internal teams (e.g., Legal, Operations, Medical Management) to support contract implementation and network integrity.\nAnalyze financial, operational, and utilization data to assess contract performance and support strategic decisions.\nEnsure accurate and timely contract submissions, amendments, and renewals.\nMaintain comprehensive knowledge of plan products, policies, and market trends to guide provider engagement and contracting strategies.\nSupport corporate initiatives, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution of projects and goals.\nTo be successful in this role, you must have:\nA bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.\nAt least 4 years of experience in commercial managed care contracting and negotiating experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.\nExperience in developing, managing and nurturing key provider relationships.\nKnowledge of various reimbursement methodologies, including incentive-based models preferred.\nAn understanding and experience with managed care, and provider business models in the commercial healthcare space.\nA collaborative approach with proven ability to develop strong working relationships within a fast-paced organization.\nCustomer centric and interpersonal skills are required.\nDemonstrates an ability to maneuver effectively in a changing environment.\nAdept in Practiced problem solving, decision-making, negotiating, contract language and financial acumen.\nKnowledge of Microsoft Office tools\nIt would be great if you have:\nPublic speaking and presentation skills to present terms and value propositions to physician groups and leadership\nBasic financial modeling to understand how rate changes impact medical cost and network competitiveness\nContract language experience with reviewing redlines, understanding contract clauses at an intermediate level.\nBenefits\nAutomatic 4% employer contribution to retirement plan\n401k plan with 100% match up to 6%\nFlexible time off for vacation, illness, etc.\nNine paid holidays\nDay one health, Rx, vision, and dental insurance\nLife and disability insurance\nFlexible spending account\nPet coverage and pet Rx discounts\nFree identity theft protection\nFree 2nd medical opinion service\nLocation\nTexicare offers a flex-hybrid environment centered around collaboration and connection.
