The hotel offers an on-site breakfast restaurant serving a daily buffet breakfast and grab-and-go options, while providing guests with easy access to Hobart's renowned dining, café and waterfront attractions.\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking a passionate and motivated culinary professional to join our Kitchen team as a Commis Chef at Travelodge Hotel Hobart. \nYou'll help create memorable dining experiences by preparing high-quality food with care, consistency and attention to detail. Working alongside an experienced kitchen team, you'll contribute to every service with professionalism, teamwork and pride in your craft.\nWhether you're developing your culinary skills or bringing existing experience, you'll play an important role in creating exceptional experiences for every guest.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare, cook and present menu items in accordance with recipes, brand standards and food safety requirements, appropriate to your role.\nMaintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency during every service period.\nEnsure workstations, kitchen equipment and food preparation areas remain clean, organised and hygienic.\nFollow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times.\nWork collaboratively with kitchen and Food & Beverage teams to deliver exceptional dining experiences.\nMonitor stock levels and minimise food waste through effective preparation and portion control.\nAssist with receiving, storing and rotating stock in accordance with food safety requirements.\nContribute to a positive, collaborative and high-performing kitchen environment.\nSkills & Experience\nPassion for producing high-quality food and delivering exceptional dining experiences.\nStrong teamwork and communication skills within a fast-paced kitchen environment.\nAbility to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency.\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to food presentation standards.\nSound understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe work practices.\nStrong organisational and time management skills.\nFlexibility to work a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.\nPrevious experience in a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment preferred.\nUnderstanding of commercial food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.\nAbility to follow recipes, procedures and instructions accurately.\nWillingness to learn, develop culinary skills and contribute positively to the kitchen team.\nQualifications, Certifications & Licenses\nFood Safety Supervisor Certificate (where required).\nCurrent Food Handling or Food Safety certification.\nKnowledge of HACCP principles is advantageous.\nCertificate III in Commercial Cookery (preferred for chef roles).\nThe Benefits\nAt TFE Hotels, we believe work should feel good for our guests and for our people.
