Most importantly - be a part of a positive team culture that is focused on our people.\nThales Australia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of critical capability for Defence Land vehicle programs. This is a 12 month Fixed-Term Contract role which can be based at our Bendigo site.\nThe Electrical / C4I Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, verification, and support of Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems within complex Defence programs. This role applies electrical and communications engineering expertise to deliver reliable, secure, interoperable, and operationally effective solutions that meet customer and mission requirements.\nWorking within multidisciplinary teams, the successful candidate will contribute to system design, integration, testing, and certification activities while managing technical risks and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and customer requirements.\nYOUR ROLE:\nDesign, develop, integrate, and support C4I systems and subsystems.\n\nDevelop electrical and communications engineering solutions for complex operational environments.\n\nProduce and review technical drawings, 3D models, schematics, and engineering documentation using CAD software.\n\nDevelop and maintain engineering artefacts including requirements, specifications, interface definitions, design descriptions, and test procedures.\n\nConduct engineering activities across the system lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, integration, verification, validation, and acceptance.\n\nSupport the design and integration of tactical and strategic communications systems.\n\nAnalyse communications architectures, networks, RF systems, data links, and associated infrastructure.\n\nEnsure communications solutions meet performance, interoperability, cybersecurity, and operational requirements.\n\nPlan and execute integration, test, verification, validation, and acceptance activities.\n\nInvestigate and resolve technical issues identified during development, integration, testing, and operational deployment.\n\nSupport platform, network, and mission system integration activities.\n\nCollaborate with customers, suppliers, project teams, and end users to deliver effective technical outcomes.\n\nProvide technical advice and recommendations to project and engineering leadership.\n\nParticipate in design reviews, technical working groups, and customer engagements.\n\nYOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:\nDemonstrated experience in Electrical Engineering within Defence, communications, or complex integrated systems environments.\n\nExperience integrating military C4I systems onto land platforms.\n\nKnowledge of RF systems, electrical power systems, and networked communications.\n\nExperience working with radios, amplifiers, filters, couplers, and antennas.\n\nProficiency in CAD software, particularly Creo Parametric and Creo Schematic.\n\nExperience supporting Verification and Validation (V&V), testing, certification, and acceptance activities.\n\nTertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.\n\nExperience handling Australian and US Government classified information and Australian export-controlled information.\n\nAustralian Citizenship is required to be eligible to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance.\n\nWE ENCOURAGE YOU TO APPLY:\nAfter you have applied, you will receive an email acknowledging your application.
