To support our operations and secure continuity in our tooling and support activities, we are looking for a\nMicrowave Engineer with Tooling Specialist Activities.\nAbout the role.\nIn this position, you combine microwave design and engineering support with tooling and automation responsibilities. The role consists of two main parts:\n Tooling & support specialist activities\nYou will maintain and enhance our development environment, including work with:\nADS, Momentum, HFSS, GitLab\n\nMatlab, Visual Studio Code\n\nThis includes, among other things:\nBuilding, maintaining, and expanding measured component libraries for ADS.\n\nSupporting colleagues in using tools and software effectively.\n\nExploring and experimenting with new tooling features.\n\nAutomating engineering workflows using scripting (e.g., Linux, Python, Git and AEL).\n\nTaking part in the gradual use of AI within tooling and support activities (future scope).\n\nMicrowave engineering design work\nYou will work within our multidisciplinary team as microwave engineer which includes activities as:\n\nContribute to the design and development of microwave components and solutions.\n\nSupport engineering activities within ongoing projects.\n\nTest, analyze, and iterate on designs to improve performance.\n\nYour profile.\nYou are curious, technically strong, and you enjoy both engineering and improving the tools that make engineering possible.\n\nYou have:\nDegree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences.\n\nAn affinity with microwave engineering or RF development.\n\nExperience with, or a strong interest in, tooling and automation.\n\nKnowledge of Linux.\n\nExperience with scripting (preferably Python and/or Unix scripting).\n\nInterest in software tools such as ADS, Momentum, HFSS, Matlab, VSCode and GitLab.\n\nThe motivation to support colleagues and share knowledge.\n\nA practical, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset.\n\nStrong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.\n\nMicrowave engineering experience is a plus, but the role is also well-suited for candidates who are relatively new to the field-as long as they are technically strong, quick to learn, and motivated by both design work and tooling/support activities.\n\n What we offer.\nA challenging position in a high-tech, innovative environment with room for initiative and strong ideas.\n\nOpportunities for professional and personal growth within Thales, including technical and international development.\n\nValuable international collaboration with colleagues across the Thales Group.\n\nA modern workplace with flexibility and a healthy work-life balance (including a target 60/40 home office/on-site balance, when the role allows).\n\nA competitive salary, travel allowance, and the option to tailor parts of your employment conditions (e.g., bicycle plan, fitness, relocation support, or trading PTO for specific costs).\n\n40 days of paid leave per year (PTO).\n\nLocation: Hengelo, The Netherlands.\n\nInterested?\nApply now.
