Here within Australia, Underwater Systems delivers projects, products and services that are critical to the Royal Australian Navy and allied Navy’s. This includes the domain sectors of Undersea Warfare (Submarines, Torpedoes, Undersea Surveillance), Mine Warfare, Surface Ships and the Acoustics Centre of Excellence.\nBENEFITS @ THALES\nCompetitive remuneration + Bonus + Health insurance\n\nFree medical health insurance for you and your family\n\nThalesFlex - flexibility working is our everyday\n\nFitness Passport Discount\n\nEmployee discounts with a number of affiliates (Travel, Car hire, Tech)\n\nModernised Paid Parental Leave\n\nNovated Lease options\n\nKEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAs a Project Manager you are accountable for:\nManaging Projects (and Bids as required) in accordance with Thales guidelines ensuring it addresses the objectives of the business.\nLiaising closely and collaboratively with functional teams to ensure efficient delivery of bids/projects.\nEffective management of stakeholders and associated communications both external and internal.\nDeveloping customer relationships by ensuring products and services delivered exceed where possible, customer expectations.\nDeveloping winning strategies, with specific win themes and ensuring it translates into compelling offers.\nConducting gate reviews in accordance with Thales Governance framework.\nPreparing, monitoring and managing Bid and Project integrated schedule, budget, baselines, risks and opportunities.\nCoordinating and negotiating input from suppliers, partners and oversees subcontractors.\nPreparing and presenting all internal and customer reporting requirements.\nDevelop KPI’s and conduct analysis to provide early alert to the business of all significant emerging variances and risks including mitigation plans to counter variances and risks.\nGuiding, coaching and providing direct support to less experienced bid and project managers.\nKEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE\nTo be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:\nTechnical Project Management and Delivery experience (development of new products/solutions)\nDegree qualified in business, engineering, project management or other suitable discipline.\nIPMA Certification or ability to secure certification (IPMA C)\nProven and effective leadership skills with a high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.\nAt least three years’ Bid and Project Management experience with multi-partners / major co-contractors.\nExperience working with complex Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).\nThe confidence and maturity of judgement to represent the company at senior levels with customer organisations both nationally and internationally.\nExceptional written communication skills including authoring content and editing.\nStrong internal stakeholder management in a matrix organisation.\nAbility to resolve conflict and negotiate sound commercial outcomes.\nExperience with Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.\nExperience with Defence ASDEFCON procurement\nGOOD TO KNOW\nPrior to being offered employment, you will need to complete pre-employment police and (role dependent) medical checks. A Defence security clearance is required for this role; applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.\nAdditional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA/.
