Thales supports the security and stability of our nation by providing extraordinary technology to our customers, as well as delivering social value to the UK with our products and services.\nSenior Systems Engineer\nCrawley - Hybrid\nThales Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) UK is a principal supplier of UAS, EW and Radar equipment to the UK armed forces, as well as an exporter of these capabilities worldwide.\nISR is a highly complex product development environment, focusing on delivering cutting edge products in the UAS and EW Fields. We are recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer with opportunity to work across multiple complex programmes. Performing subsets of all the engineering activities required to develop a solution/product whilst achieving customer satisfaction.\nWe’re looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with experience working in safety critical engineering developments and a strong understanding of the development lifecycle.\nKey responsibilities include:\nDemonstration that the solution satisfies the overall approved operational needs set out by the customer.\nFormalisation and management of requirements through DOORS.\nAssembly of the solution elements in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate design, behaviour, interactions and performance to confirm that the design meets requirements.\nFormalisation of the specifications and the engineering plans used to develop the solution.\nSupport and undertake IVVQ activities.\nTrade-off analysis, modelling and simulation.\nSE and IVVQ related documentation.\nWork alongside a Systems Engineering team, or Systems Architect, or Project Design Authority to design and formalise the solution.\nWhat are we looking for?\nMinimum of a Bachelor Degree (BEng, BSc) in a Numerate, Scientific or Engineering subject or Higher Education/equivalent training and experience.\nProven working experience in requirements management using tools such as DOORS or Polarion.\nProven experience working in and/or leading a team undergoing Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) of a solution/product\nDetailed working knowledge of the engineering lifecycle, from concept design, requirements capture and management, system and subsystem design, system integration, through to test strategies, acceptance and design update.\nDesirable experience\nModel Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools.\nProven working experience of requirements management in Polarion.\nArchitecture Frameworks (MODAF, DODAF, TOGAF etc.)\nProduct line Engineering\nElectronic Warfare, Radar or telecommunications domain.\nSecurity Clearance Requirement:\nDue to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment.
