Your responsibility will be to help design and build tools and infrastructure that we use to support our teams and our customers. These tools will have to scale with our growing platform and customer base, and will drive operational excellence for the company’s globally distributed network. The person taking this role will have input in decisions that will have a major impact on the infrastructure and how we serve our customers. As an SRE in the ICO organization, you will work with your team solving problems, supporting and optimizing the infrastructure programmatically. You will work with your team to improve the overall availability, reliability, performance, and security of the infrastructure under control.\nSpecial Position Requirements\nWork Schedule: Monday to Friday with on-call work over some weekends\nWork Travel: Domestic and international travel will be required from time to time to meet with colleagues, attend conferences etc etc.\nWhile we have some flexibility about our working locations it is important that we meet face to face from time to time to properly build relationships and get to know each other. Therefore you may be required to travel internationally up to 5 times a year for department conferences, team meetings or group working sessions. You will also be required to attend your registered Thales / Imperva office. A few times a week to work directly with colleagues.\n Key Areas of Responsibilities\nWork with other teams across the company to build and deploy infrastructure that supports our platforms.\nApply SRE core tenets of measurement (SLI/SLO/SLA), eliminate toil, and reliability modelling\nEstablish metrics for data-driven decisions to increase availability, reliability, and velocity\nBuild and maintain, and evolve SLO and SLI network/system/application baselines\nAssist with go/no go preplanning, verification/validation, and review of existing and new product/services\nProactively analyse data and test the integrity of network/systems to ensure production applications and services are operating optimally\nWork with internal customers as needed to troubleshoot and resolve business affecting issues\nParticipate in escalations, incident response, RCA’s, and postmortems\nParticipate in 24x7 on-call rotation\n Basic Qualifications\nAt least 5 years of professional experience within a cloud/web/CDN scale infrastructure\nExperience with Python and Go. C/C++ a plus\nExpert knowledge of Linux systems, network programming and protocols TCP, UDP, DNS, TLS/SSL, HTTP\nExperience with BGP and Anycast routing is a plus\nExperience with DevOps principles and concepts such as Infrastructure as Code (Ansible/Saltstack), CI/CD (Gitlab, Jenkins, Git), monitoring and visualization (Prometheus, Grafana)\nExperience with big data technologies such as NoSQL/RDBMS, Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka\nExperience with containers and container management (Docker, Kubernetes)\nExperience analyzing and building data telemetry, modeling, pipelines, UI visualization\nExperience in developing software, troubleshooting, and monitoring large scale distributed systems\nImplement software engineering best practices/standards and software development life cycle\nWorking knowledge and experience of Agile software development methodologies\nOutstanding collaboration and communication, and documentation skills with a proven ability to work cross-functionally\nBS/MS in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience\nWhy Join Us?\nSay HI and learn more about working at Thales click here\nThis position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check.
