Together, we’re shaping the future by enabling customers to make pivotal decisions that safeguard communities and power progress.Thales Solutions Asia is looking for a System Management Engineer (Command and Control) to oversee the operations, maintenance, and lifecycle management of mission-critical Command and Control (C2) systems supporting a government agency.\nIn this role, you will work closely with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to maintain system reliability, meet stringent Service Level Agreements (SLAs), manage system enhancements, and ensure operational readiness.\nThis role will be seconded at the client's location.\nResponsibilities:\nMonitor system health, uptime, downtime, and incidents to maintain stringent SLA requirements, including availability targets of up to 99.9%.\nCoordinate incident management, issue escalation, troubleshooting, and stakeholder communications.\nSupport on-site operations across project locations and provide timely operational support through emails and group chats based on incident priority and severity.\nCoordinate system patching, planned downtime, power servicing, and recovery activities to ensure system availability.\nManage hardware maintenance contracts, software licences, security certificates, and other service agreements.\nMonitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and SLA requirements.\nCoordinate contract variations, non-conformance matters, and follow-up actions with relevant stakeholders.\nSupport vendor security clearance submissions and audits of Authority-Furnished Spares.\nCoordinate Change Requests (CRs), including requirements review, solution validation, approvals, implementation tracking, testing, and closure.\nManage system baselines, configuration changes, and technical documentation.\nPlan and track technology refresh activities, including hardware and software upgrades, operating system migrations, infrastructure migrations, and end-of-life replacements.\nMonitor obsolescence risks involving hardware, software licences, operating systems, and security certificates.\nCoordinate system enhancements, infrastructure upgrades, maintenance activities, and technical refresh projects.\nReview vendor proposals, technical solutions, operation and maintenance manuals, troubleshooting guides, and operational documentation.\nSupport procurement activities, including service contracts, maintenance agreements, bulk tenders, and ad-hoc requirements.\nMonitor budgets, expenditure, and forecasts for maintenance services, system enhancements, Change Requests, and ad-hoc projects.\nMaintain project documentation, including project handbooks, meeting minutes, system records, and operational reports.\nSupport baseline reviews, compliance activities, and governance processes to ensure effective system management.\n\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s Degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business IT, or an equivalent discipline.\nAt least 5 years of experience in IT operations, systems support, project management, or the maintenance of mission-critical systems.\nExperience working with stringent SLAs, preferably in environments with availability targets of 99.9% or higher.\nGood understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM), operational best practices, incident management, change management, and configuration management.\nExperience in vendor management, contract administration, procurement, budget tracking, or technical project coordination.\nAbility to understand system and software architectures, infrastructure dependencies, and user operational requirements.\nStrong coordination, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to work under pressure, prioritise competing tasks, and respond effectively to operational incidents.\nWillingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving system requirements.\nAt Thales, we’re committed to fostering a workplace where respect, trust, collaboration, and passion drive everything we do.
