This role is ideal for someone who combines technical curiosity with a hands-on engineering mindset and is able to turn innovative ideas into tangible results.\nAbout the role\nAs a Technology Innovation/ SW Product Engineer, you will play a key role in exploring, integrating and applying new technologies in the development of new products and capabilities for the defense domain. You quickly understand new technologies, combine different systems and technical components, and translate Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to demonstrators and/or Minimal Viable Products (MVPs).\nYou are comfortable working independently on software development tasks, while also collaborating with stakeholders to shape the path from prototype to production-ready solutions. You are able to make pragmatic technical decisions under time pressure and contribute to iterative development with a strong focus on time to value.\nKey responsibilities\nBuild hands-on software and translate PoCs to demonstrators and/or MVPs.\nDevelop software independently, including both greenfield development and modification of existing codebases.\nDevelop software in JAVA and show willingness to use other programming languages, tools and frameworks when needed\nundefined\nCombine different technologies, systems and software components into working end-to-end solutions\nRapidly understand and assess new technologies and determine how they can be applied in product development/innovation.\nQuickly learn how different technologies interact and make them work together effectively.\nSolve technical challenges in a practical and hands-on way.\nundefined\nAct as a discussion partner for stakeholders in defining the path from prototype to production-ready solutions.\nThink at system level and maintain a broad view on architecture, dependencies and integration impacts.\nSupport technical decision-making in environments where speed, uncertainty and delivery pressure are important factors.\nContribute to an iterative development approach to ensure optimal time to value.\nTranslate technology choices into business value and apply strong business and product thinking to explain why something should be built and for whom.\nYour profile\nYou are a practical engineer with a strong interest in innovation and product development.\nEnjoys working in high tech environments where technology, integration and delivery come together.\nAdaptable, analytical, and able to turn technical complexity into workable and valuable solutions.\nHold a BSc or MSc in a technical discipline, preferably Computer Science, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, or Electrical Engineering.\nIn addition, you bring:\nThe ability to quickly understand and apply new technologies.\nExperience in combining multiple technologies and systems into functional solutions.\nStrong hands-on software engineering skills.\nThe ability to independently develop new software and modify existing solutions.\nExperience with Java and openness to working with multiple programming languages and frameworks.\nStrong hands-on problem-solving skills.\nAffinity with and/or experience in technology integration.\nThe ability to quickly learn and work with API integrations, legacy environments, third-party solutions, Linux.\nHigh technology adaptability.\nThe ability to think at system level.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nA good balance of technology insight, business awareness and product thinking.\nWhat we offer\nAt Thales, you will have the opportunity to work on meaningful technology in a highly innovative and international environment.
