The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a wide-ranging and dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities.\nAs part of the Enterprise Design Subdivision (EDS), the Portfolio Analysis Department (PAD) drives responsive and comprehensive trades in customer portfolios. Working closely with corporate program offices, PAD delivers portfolio decision insights that expand options for senior leaders and accelerates delivery of end effects. PAD integrates expertise, system analysis and design capabilities from across the corporation. We are looking for an experienced Systems Software Engineer to support a variety of government customers.\nWork Model\nThis position will be required to work full-time on-site at Aerospace’s Huntsville, Alabama location.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nServe as an expert for an internally developed software tool, handling information requests and delivering demos to program offices and their customers\nHelp users understand how to build models, run analyses, and create and use dashboards within the tool\nWork with users and program offices to gather requirements for new features, improvements, and bug fixes and help to prioritize development work and plan sprints\nImplement new features and bug fixes, and maintain deployments across web-hosted, internal network, and government network environments\nProvide hands-on support to help analysts leverage advanced features and troubleshoot models\nPartner with digital transformation teams to plan and implement data strategy for in-house tools and capabilities, including integration with other key data services\nIdentify and implement new capabilities and enhancements to better support customer programs and architectures\nTake initiative to inform management of technical issues and recommend courses of action\nLeverage Aerospace's technical backplane to deliver tailored technical support and innovative solutions for customer-specific use cases\nDevelop data visualization dashboards to enable data-driven decision-making\nProvide ongoing technical consultation to management, customers, and contractors\nProvide mentoring and oversight to early career staff, as necessary\nOccasional travel may be required\nWhat You Need to be Successful\nMinimum Requirements for the Senior Member of the Technical Staff\nBachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, science, or other related technical discipline\nTypically, at least 4 years of increasingly responsible experience in software engineering or related engineering disciplines\nGeneral C++ experience, including object-oriented programming (OOP)\nFamiliarity with cloud technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes/Rancher, Jenkins)\nExperience in systems engineering, model-based systems engineering, and/or digital engineering\nAbility to integrate into and operate effectively within a mature, large-scale codebase, demonstrating flexibility and professional adaptability in adhering to established team norms, coding standards, and development conventions\nExperience in UI design and implementation\nExcellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects\nTake initiative, have flexibility, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment\nExcellent interpersonal skills and well adept at oral and written communication\nAvailable and willing to travel domestically, approx. 5-10%\nActive Secret security clearance\nHow You Can Stand Out\nIt would be impressive if you have one or more of these:\nAdvanced degree in engineering, mathematics, science, or other related technical discipline\nExperience with Qt\nData visualization experience\nExperience in systems engineering or model-based engineering experience\nDemonstrated leadership of broad multidisciplinary teams conducting technical evaluations of complex systems; cost, schedule, and risk analysis; portfolio-level trade studies; and requirements development\nExperience with DoW systems engineering and programmatic processes, methods, tools, and personnel\nExperience briefing senior Government leaders (General Officer and/or SES/SIS)\nWe offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.
