This role is suited for recent graduates as the Associate role is a temporary training position, after 3-5 months you will convert to a permanent hire.\nYou'll work on designing and implementing tools to operate, analyze and control The Boring Company's TBMs. Within this role, you will have wide exposure to the overall system architecture.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop and maintain software across multiple domains - front end, back end, etc\nSupport software engineering & controls team writing code for tunnel boring machine.\nOwnership of data pipeline.\nVisualize relevant data for different stakeholders using dashboards (e.g., Grafana)\nSupport and improve build pipelines\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent field.\nSome experience in software engineering with experience developing software applications in Python or C++\nExperience building real time data pipelines, preferably pulling from machinery/robotics\nDevelopment experience in JavaScript, CSS and HTML\nFamiliar with using SQL and NoSQL (time series) databases\nComfortable working in ambiguous, evolving environments\nAbility and motivation to learn new skills rapidly\nCapable of working with imperfect information\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills\nExperience with embedded systems, real-time software, or device interfaces\nExperience in designing and testing user interfaces\nKnowledge of the protocols HTTP and MQTT\nExperience using and configuring CI/CD pipelines and in writing unit tests\nExperience working in Windows and Linux operating systems\nWork experience in agile teams is a plus\nAdditional Requirements\nAbility to work long hours and weekends as necessary.\nCulture\nWe're a team of dedicated, smart, and scrappy people.
