Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.\nResponsibilities\nCreate geotechnical data reports, geotechnical interpretation reports, geotechnical design reports for tunnel and shaft construction.\nCreate temporary support of excavation designs, reports, and drawings.\nProduce tunnel lining design documentation, including lateral earth pressure calculations.\nPerform ground settlement and construction impact analysis of subsurface structures (e.g., shafts, tunnels) and 3rd party infrastructure (e.g., buildings, utilities).\nCreate and oversee the implementation of settlement monitoring plans.\nPlan and execute geotechnical investigations.\nAssist in the collection and review of as-built drawings and existing geotechnical data for subsurface due diligence.\nProvide geotechnical recommendations for construction means and methods.\nPerform construction period observation and inspection.\nSupport brick operations with geotechnical recommendations and testing oversight.\nKey Qualifications\nBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology or related discipline.\nAnywhere from 1-10 years of experience working in rock mechanics, or in hard rock conditions (tunneling, mining). Candidates with more experience will given a title and compensation which is reflective of their skillset.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nCoursework in geotechnical engineering (soils and rock mechanics), structural analysis, foundation engineering, hydrology, earthquake engineering, engineering geology, tunnel engineering, reinforced concrete design, steel design, and constitutive modeling.\nPreliminary and final analysis and design experience (geotechnical investigation, slope stability analysis, support of excavation, construction impact to adjacent buildings and utilities, providing geotechnical design parameter recommendations).\nAdditional Requirements\nThe position may require extended hours and weekend work.\nThis role is on site / in person in Nashville, TN (relocation will be supported).\nThe position will require periodic work inside tunnels.
