Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.\nOur Integration Engineering team is responsible for Production & Integration of the systems of our Tunnel Boring Machines and related systems, with the primary focus of improving manufacturability.\nResponsibilities\nOwner of large scale production of a complex system in a fast paced environment\nSubject matter expert on system function and manufacturing\nLead continuous improvements of system manufacturability by optimizing process, cost, quality, simplicity and efficiency\nSolve complex problems via scrappy, and systematic solutions\nIdentify, implement and manage batch “production running” of assemblies, taking full responsibility for bulk purchasing and strategic outsourcing.\nEvaluate and engineer production flow, ensuring complete oversight and accountability for effective build processes\nMonitor production capacity and independently drive actionable, high-impact recommendations for process improvements\nSynthesize real-world data across manufacturing, testing, R&D, mining, and design to independently drive design and manufacturing enhancements\nDesign and Integrate jigs to improve ease of production\nOversee the pipeline for upcoming design changes, taking accountability for accurate purchasing and the seamless production of future machines\nAuthor and maintain comprehensive work instructions and quality documentation to establish the standard for floor operations\nGuide and direct skilled trades (machinists, welders, mechanics) on the floor, providing hands-on technical expertise and leadership to resolve complex challenges\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelors or graduate degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechatronics) or a related field\n2+ years of experience of design using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and prototype design/testing\nExperience in a manufacturing environment and working closely with the floor / production line\nStrong teamwork and leadership skills with a proven ability to effectively interact, collaborate, and communicate with other engineering disciplines and skilled Trades laborers\nHands-on hardware experience performing fabrication, assembly and/or testing - can be in a professional, academic or recreational setting.\nAcute attention to detail\nPreferred Skills And Experience\nProficiency in mechanical design\nFamiliarity with basic safety and quality standards\nFamiliarity with production concepts such as TPS, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.\nAbility to interpret Hydraulic schematics - Bonus\nKnowledgeable in mechatronics, fluid power system concepts, material selection, and common manufacturing processes\nExperience working around or on heavy machinery and construction sites\nExperience in leadership on technical teams\nAdditional Requirements\nAbility to work in underground tunnel and on construction sites\nReadiness to travel to tunnels and job sites across the US on short notice as required to develop and deploy new designs, in addition to troubleshooting and resolving problems with current infrastructure.\nAbility to move fast to solve unpredictable manufacturing challenges and eagerness to dive in alongside the team when critical equipment or production needs arise\nEnthusiastic about urgently solving problems and hitting milestones\nCulture\nWe're a team of dedicated, smart, and scrappy people.
