Make history with us.\nPackaging Machine Operator\nLocation: Hanover, Pennsylvania\nShift: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Monday - Friday\nStarting Pay: $25.50/hour\nHOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…\nAs a Packaging Machine Operator, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality products to our customers by safely and efficiently operating packaging equipment. Your attention to quality, troubleshooting expertise, and commitment to continuous improvement help ensure products are packaged accurately while maintaining production efficiency and food safety standards.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO…\nMaintain shift documentation, including metal detector checks and batch order verifications.\nRead and interpret production schedules using MicroStrategy.\nPrint labels using various printers and programs; clean and adjust printers as needed.\nPerform nitrogen testing and other quality checks.\nMonitor packaging machinery to ensure correct codes, dates, and pricing information.\nMaintain adequate supplies of roll stock and packaging materials.\nSet up and program bag-making equipment.\nCreate and edit machine settings and micro logic to support efficient, low-waste operations.\nCreate and modify code dates.\nPerform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and equipment adjustments.\nCalibrate and adjust scales, linkages, and packaging equipment components.\nOperate packaging equipment, including baggers, scales, conveyors, seal checkers, case packers, case sealers, and robotic cells.\nPlan and execute efficient machine changeovers between product runs.\nMonitor and adjust machines to ensure proper film cut-off and seal quality.\nEnsure machines are operating at established production standards and speeds.\nMonitor product appearance and comply with weight control requirements.\nPerform bag weight checks every 20 minutes and inspect products for quality concerns.\nIdentify, troubleshoot, and resolve packaging quality issues.\nSort and rework acceptable product from run-off as required.\nMaintain clean machines and work areas through routine sanitation and housekeeping.\nReport equipment issues promptly to maintenance technicians or supervisors.\nFollow all safety, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping procedures.\nStore supplies in designated locations and keep aisles and exits clear.\nMay provide leadership and direction to Packers.\nMay serve as a Back-Up Packaging Coordinator or other skilled production roles.\nMay monitor and replenish seasoning systems to ensure proper product coverage.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nWork overtime as required to support production needs.\nWHO YOU WILL WORK WITH…\nPackers\nPackaging Coordinators\nMaintenance Technicians\nProduction Supervisors\nQuality and Food Safety Teams\nSanitation Team Members\nWarehouse and Logistics Teams\nManufacturing Support Teams\nWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)\nStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to safely operate manufacturing and packaging equipment.\nAbility to perform machine setups, changeovers, adjustments, and basic maintenance activities.\nStrong attention to detail with a focus on product quality and food safety.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nAbility to follow written procedures, production schedules, and safety guidelines.\nAbility to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods.\nWillingness to work overtime during the week and on weekends based on production requirements.\nCommitment to teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.\nIT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nOne (1) year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.\nPrevious experience operating packaging equipment in a food manufacturing environment.\nExperience with automated equipment, robotic cells, or case packing equipment.\nKnowledge of MicroStrategy or other production management systems.\nExperience with preventative maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.\nLeadership experience in a manufacturing environment.\nPhysical & Work Environment\nContinuous standing, hand use, visual focus, and fine motor movements throughout the shift.\nFrequent walking, bending, reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling, overhead work, squatting, kneeling, and climbing activities.\nContinuous repetitive twisting and manual manipulation of equipment and packaging materials.\nFrequent reading, writing, concentration, comprehension, and problem-solving while monitoring equipment and product quality.\nAbility to lift up to 10 pounds continuously, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds frequently.\nAbility to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance and over 100 pounds seldom with assistance.\nRegular exposure to moving mechanical equipment and manufacturing machinery.\nFrequent exposure to wet and humid production environments.\nOccasional exposure to elevated work areas, airborne particles, and cleaning chemicals.\nWork is performed in a loud manufacturing environment requiring appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).\nFast-paced production environment focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.\nIndividual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
