Strong attendance and punctuality are required.\nHOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…\nAs a Salty Packaging Machine Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of packaging equipment while maintaining product quality and production standards. You will help drive operational excellence by troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, minimizing waste, and ensuring products are packaged accurately and efficiently.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO…\nOperate, monitor, and maintain packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production.\nRead and interpret production schedules and MicroStrategy reports to plan packaging activities.\nMaintain required production documentation, including Metal Detector and Batch Order Verifications.\nPrint and manage packaging labels using various printers and programs.\nPerform nitrogen testing and monitor packaging specifications to ensure product quality.\nSet up packaging equipment, including bag makers, scales, case sealers, robot cells, and auxiliary equipment.\nCreate and modify machine programs, code dates, and machine micro logic to support efficient operations and reduce waste.\nPerform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on packaging equipment.\nConduct scale calibrations, make equipment adjustments, and ensure proper machine functionality.\nComplete product changeovers efficiently while minimizing downtime.\nMonitor machine performance, packaging materials, cutoffs, seals, weights, and production speeds.\nPerform bag weight checks and quality inspections throughout the shift.\nIdentify, troubleshoot, and resolve packaged product quality issues.\nProperly handle product runoff, rework salvageable product, and account for production losses.\nMaintain adequate packaging material inventory and replenish supplies as needed.\nKeep equipment and work areas clean while following sanitation standards.\nImmediately report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to maintenance or supervision.\nFollow all food safety, quality, safety, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.\nAssist with seasoning system monitoring and replenishment when applicable.\nMay provide guidance and direction to Packers and serve as a backup for Packaging Coordinator or other skilled positions.\nSupport additional operational responsibilities as assigned, including mandatory overtime when required.\nWHO YOU WILL WORK WITH…\nPackaging Operators and Packers\nPackaging Coordinators\nMaintenance Technicians\nProduction Supervisors\nQuality Assurance Team Members\nOperations and Manufacturing Personnel\nYou will collaborate across departments to ensure packaging operations meet production schedules, quality standards, and safety expectations.\nWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)\nAbility to safely operate packaging machinery in a manufacturing environment.\nAbility to read, write, and comprehend instructions, production documentation, numbers, and product specifications.\nAbility to troubleshoot equipment issues and make minor machine adjustments.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and food safety standards.\nAbility to work independently and use sound judgment in a fast-paced production environment.\nAbility to follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.\nAbility to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.\nAbility to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally assist with heavier loads.\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment with loud noise, moving machinery, humidity, and varying conditions.\nFlexibility to work overtime as required.\nIT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nOne (1) year of manufacturing, packaging, or production experience.\nExperience operating automated packaging equipment, scales, baggers, case packers, or robotic systems.\nExperience performing preventative maintenance or equipment troubleshooting.\nFamiliarity with MicroStrategy or other production scheduling systems.\nExperience with machine programming, code dating systems, and packaging label printers.\nPrior leadership experience providing guidance to production or packaging team members.\nFood manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety practices.\nIndividual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
